Minor League Releases

On Tuesday, the Minnesota Twins released six players from Extended Spring Training. With many of the 2016 draft picks starting to sign, they will soon report to Ft. Myers for Extended Spring Training and within the next couple of weeks, players will head out to Elizabethton or stay with the GCL Twins in Ft. Myers.

 

Unfortunately, some of the guys who have been in Ft. Myers since March will not be on one of those teams. Players released Tuesday are:

 

Pitchers Rich Condeelis, Nate Gercken, and Luis Hernandez.

Catcher Jose Ortiz

Outfielder Rowan Ebersohn

Infielder Ruar Verkerk.

 

Best wishes to each of them in whatever is next in their careers.

Also, a week or so ago, the Twins released Cedar Rapids native Chad Christensen from the Ft. Myers roster.

Yes, good luck and God Bless. It is so hard to reach the majors and so many put in so much work only to fizz out at some point in the minors. Unfortunately, there will have to be more soon with mid season promotions and those will be even tougher.

Having been to quite a few EXST games in the past month I can't say I'm shocked of any of the names that were released, Rowan and Ververk were completely overmatched at the plate and it's a numbers game with all the new signings.

 

At least Ververk parent's got to see him play as they were there the last two weeks of EXST games.

 

I'll miss Condy the most of the bunch, hope he catches on.

 

Luis Hernandez probably had the most talent of the players cut, was close friends with Quezada.

 

Nate Gercken had the best 'stache in camp.

 

Seth, I had pics of all of them for the book, looks like that won't be needed...
