Just saw that; he really likes California. Great place to be as long as you don't like drinking water.

Fly over country gets a bad rap yet again. I think the criteria used was pretty flawed, but then I'm pretty biased. And I miss home every day despite a good and happy life where I am.

 

If you saw 'Inside Out' toward the end of the movie when the little girl aborts her plan to run away and comes home, and cries 'I miss Minnesota!' I wanted to yell out in the movie theatre "So do I!"

It's a matter of choice ... combine beauty and the elements ... which would you prefer, a tornado or cyclone? (And oh, by the way, cyclones don't look like that from the ground, but I couldn't find a better pic.)

I'll take Minnesota any day of the year, but then I have done so involuntarily my whole life. I'd be curious to find out what the general populace's opinion was ....

I am not sure anybody actually reads the articles anymore but rather just looks at the headline and the map.

 

Most of the Great Lakes region ranks poorly in 5 out of the 6 criteria that they chose to rank natural amenities (wtf is that) by.  Of course MN is going to rank poorly if winter and flat are in the ranking criteria.  The question that should be asked is if the criteria mean anything close to what the author intends.
