Mostly still up in the air and the Aiken camp doesn't want a lot of people seeing them and leaking information like last year.  But there was one good nugget in the article - "One exec whose team doesn’t have access to the medical told me that execs from other teams told him it isn’t as bad as expected and that they think Aiken will go in the first round."

 

It sounds like he's not in the Twins plans but if it's just common TJ surgery and Tate is off the board, I'd want him.

There have been some hints dropped (perhaps idle speculation) that he could be on the fringe of Twins plans. If he checks out, I would certainly be on board with that type of risk considering the safer alternatives. Doubly so if they could save some slot money and spread that risk out on some higher upside HS arms.

Odd that they aren't just on the MLB information site or whatever that thing is, freely available to all teams.

yeah, I think I'd rather have Allard over Aiken, but if one of those guys was going 1M under slot, that makes it real easy to pick up some higher ceiling HS guys along the way.

 

Given the way the Twins system is stacked right now, I think that move makes a ton of sense.

Well, if they go with Aiken, i hope I am wrong, i have been saying to STAY AWAY from him, i am just afraid at #6 to waste a pick, and afraid that is what he would be.

Interestingly, Bob Nightengale of USA today reports that Aiken merely had a tear in his elbow last year.

This could be sloppy journalism but if it was just a tear, that would mean most of the TJ concern wouldn't really matter.
