That's kind if my inclination as well...he has the longest track record and seemingly the most upside.

That's basically the feeling I'm getting. I've also been told there isn't a guarantee he'd take "#6 money". The riskiness of that pick would be huge.

 

We should find out more about his situation soon.

I had read a few places recently Funkhauser is a top 5 pick.  I watched some video of him and he seems like a guy who would fit perfectly into what the Twins are trying to build.  And he projects as a #2 starter supposedly.  He throws hard 92-95 has near perfect mechanics and has some pretty nasty secondary pitches, especially his slider which doesn't appear to break until it is about 5 feet from the plate. 

 

I know the Twins are probably going to take best available, but why not keep bringing in young arms with upside.  If they happen to get into a very good problem and have too many great young pitchers and not enough rotation spots, you can trade them pieces you need.

Yeah, assuming Swanson and Rodgers are both gone who would be my #1 and #2 choices respectively.

 

I think My Twins Big Board would be:

 

A) Alex Bregman

Dillon Tate

C) Carson Fulmer

D) Either Daz Cameron or Kyle Tucker

 

obviously theres a chance that Tate, Fulmer, Swanson, Rodgers, and Bregman are all gone by the time the Twins are picking @ #6 so that would be my worst case scenerio.

 

In that scenerio my choice would probably be Tyler Jay LHP (Illinois) over anyone else unless Kyle Tucker impresses the Twins brass heavily.

 

I can't really see anyone else going to the Twins

 

Buehler is nice, but not at #6 .  Right?

It is just a guy feeling but I can see Boston taking Aiken at 7.  They have pitching depth in the minors (Owen, Ball, Johnson), and they brought up Rodriguez.  They are also a team that can go out in free agency and get a big name so they aren't as dependent on the draft as most teams.  I could see them taking a big risk at 7.
