Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Apparently the NFL has turned over 18.5% of officials the last two years, in an effort to improve officiating (wish the NCAA had done that.....). Anyone have any idea on MLB umpire turnover?

Unions are most effective when there is true competition in the market for their work. When you have too much leverage over the employer and there is a union? That's when stupid stuff becomes common. See teachers, police, auto-workers, etc. (And I'm a teacher)
