Stauffer headed to the Bullpin

Tim Stauffer is out of the rotation race and headed to the bullpen.  What does this mean for the remaining contenders for the 5th starter spot in a very shaky and volatile starting staff!?

I don't think he was ever truly an option for starting. Maybe on paper or in the press it was hinted that it was a possibility, but I don't think it really was in anyone's mind. It was a matter of saying one thing to appease, perhaps, but really thinking another.

I think the fact they were so willing to indulge his starting preference suggests they don't see him as a high-upside bullpen project, which is disappointing.
