Reusse on Shibuya

This is part of the ST tradition that I enjoy - the article about some 24 year old in A+.  Say what you want about Reusse, he seems to love baseball.

Shibuya has been very unlucky with injuries, but I can see him with the Twins some day.  This will be an interesting season for him.

Oh man... he was way off...

 

I seem to say this about a lot of people, but Tim Shibuya is one of the really good people I've had the chance to meet in the Twins organization. He does a very good job on the mound too, when he's been healthy. The Slowey comp is very fair. I hope he can stay healthy and work his way up to the Twins. Would be a great story. He was a Harmon Killebrew Award for Community Service winner in 2014.

After that 2011 season, I believe I had Shibuya ranked around 45-50 and was really interested in watching him going forward. 

 

WHIP has some value, especially since advanced stats are harder to come by in the minors. 

 

Anyway, while his current MiLB roster value relies much on his ability to start and relieve, his only chance is clearly as a reliever for MLB. There is a major logjam there right now, but 2015 could be big for him. I certainly see him as a guy that the Twins will keep around in the system for as long as Shibuya wants to stay with the organization.
