We'll see if these lineups are correct (found a new source):

Twins

Span CF

Revere RF

Willingham LF

Morneau 1B

Plouffe 3B

Dozier SS

Carroll 2B

Butera C

(Liriano P)

Pirates

Tabata LF

Harrison RF

McCutchen CF

McGehee 1B

Walker 2B

Alvarez 3B

Barmes SS

McKenry C

(Bedard P)

With Butera in the lineup and Morneau going against a tough lefty, Twins might have a tough time generating offense tonight. Hopefully the good Frankie shows up.

Along with the bad Bedard. He has been lit up in two of his last three starts so there's hope for that.

Hopefully Liriano shows up at the plate, as of now he is our 7th best hitter in the lineup.

Wait, who is the other hitter worse than Liriano?

And hey, Butera's WHIP and ERA are WAAAY better than Liriano's, so he's got that.

It was in jest, but the other one I was referring to was Morneau who is sporting a .093/.110/.203 line against LHP this year. Against LHP Morneau needs to be dropped in the lineup at the very least, in a perfect world I would like to see this lineup against LHP until Morneau gets his **** together:

1.Span

2.Revere

3. Mauer

4. Willingham

5. Plouffe 1B

6. Doumit DH

7. Dozier SS

8. Valencia 3B (I know he is in the minors, but Valencia is a solid option against LHP)

9. Carroll

Interesting. They just said on the telecast that the opening home run Pittsburgh hit last night should have only been a ground rule double. Apparently (and they showed the rule) once it bounced off the fence it became a "bounding ball" which, if it goes out of play off a fielder, is only 2 bases.

Too bad the Twins did not ask for a replay.

Tonight would be a good time for Plouffe to hit a home run (or three).

Apparently Willingham didn't realize it had bounced off him and they couldn't see it from the dugout.

A fantastic plate appearance there by the greatest defensive catcher in the history of the game.

That's 2 hits and 1 walk in his last 25 trips to the plate, with a .250 OPS.

Huh. I was informed on this very website just a month or so ago that Bruno had turned Butera into a good hitter.

It's just a minor hiccup, he'll be back to his .500 OPS ways soon enough.

Man, we've got to do better at the plate - Frankie deserves more run support than he's been getting. Let's hope he can give us a couple more good innings.

But the Bruno pill only lasts a little while. Butera needs to go back for more.

This drew a very pronounced smirk out of me.
