Entering his arb years, Miley hasn't quite been as good as his strong rookie year but he's been durable and probably wouldn't cost one of our top 5 prospects.  He's a lefty and a ground ball pitcher but has decent strike out numbers (in the NL).  I have no idea what Arizona needs/wants but Ryan should be looking into this.  Miley isn't an ace or #2 (he was never a top 100 prospect) but he's a durable, solid innings eater who is affordable.

HIs strikeout numbers increased a lot last year which coincided 45% increase in the use of his slider.  He dosn't throw much of a curveball and he uses his change up less than the Twins traditionally like, way less.  I'm not sure if the Twins would be too interested in a guy that doesn't have/use much off speed stuff.  Maybe they'd be right to have hesitations, though I do like his improving slider, he's bumped the velocity of it nearly 4 MPH in the last two years.

I'd be interested to know the historic difference in strikeout rates per league.

Last year is was about 0.40 more Ks per game in the NL, but as recently as 2012, it was .18

Yeah, it's a good point but I don't know that it will help with any kind of determination with Miley as his K numbers probably need to normalize before we know what to expect out of him in either league.
