USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Startrib icon Sid Hartman has reached 70 years with the paper. I'm not young, and I can remember looking forward to reading what he had to say in the "Sunday paper" even as a young boy. My parents didnt subscribe to the paper, but would almost always buy one on the way home from church. That's where I got my weekly update on all things sports...looking through the weekly posting of MLB stats, for example, to see who was leading the Batting average race, what the standings were in the NL, etc. it's hard to imagine for some of you, I suppose, but in those days there was no Internet. No ESPN. Little but the Twins game on the radio. And I started, each week, by reading Sid's column. Say what you will about Sid...what he was, and what he's become, but I salute you Sid! Congratulations on doing what you love for a long, long time. I hope I'm still reading you when I get to be your age.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 I used to like listening to Sid in the morning on'CCO with Boone and Erickson.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Absolutely. I went straight for the inside fold on 3C for Sid's "jottings"
