Rosenthal: Twins to interview Sandy Alomar, Jr.

Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal tweeted this morning that the Twins will be interviewing Sandy Alomar, Jr. for their managerial vacancy. 

 

He has been a long time coach in the big leagues, since ending his very long career as a big league catcher. His name has surfaced for several years already as a potential manager.

Cool - hope he gets his hall of fame hermano Roberto to be the 1st base/infield/baserunning coach- that should check all the boxes for getting a high quality team of coaches in Minnesota.

 

I still think Molitor is the Twins' 1st choice, but I like that this interview is happening.

I didn't realize you were a fan of the exploits of the Tanner family.

 

I'm just glad that they're interviewing a ton of candidates.  The more candidates that they actually interview, the more it shows me that they didn't already decide on a replacement for Gardy before he was removed as manager, and that interviewing outside candidates is not just a show to appease fans.

Agreed.  They may very well have their favorite in mind, but the more they interview the better the odds that someone else rises to the top of the list.  That is what we want - the best candidate hired.
