Plouffe has forearm surgery

Days after he was told he would not need surgery on his broken forearm, Trevor Plouffe was asked to seek a second opinion. This morning, he went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and we found out later that he had surgery. He is expected to be ready for spring training.

Sounds like relatively minor surgery, if you go in thinking you're getting it checked and come out with stitches.  Presumably general anesthesia wasn't needed, for instance, unless he was told to take the precaution of coming in on an empty stomach.

Are you getting this from a different report than what Seth posted?  I didn't interpret anything from the original post that he only came out of it with minor stitches.

Nope, sorry, my interpretation, meant colorfully more than informationally.  Do we have more precise information by now?
