Interesting little piece on Fangraphs about Dozier's decline in July:

[P]itchers are attacking him in a significantly different fashion than they ever have before, and Dozier hasn’t responded well, to put it very kindly. In the end, I’m trying my best not to overreact to a one-month sample, but Dozier clearly needs to make a serious adjustment if pitchers continue to avoid throwing him fastballs.

Once his thumb has healed, it'll be interesting to see if he can make those adjustments.

It is the back and forth of adjustments entering the league. He will adjust back some.

Over the last two years his OPS+ is 103. He plays good defense at 2B. The Twins can probably expect that level of performance over the next three years. Certainly worthy of a starting role at 2B on many teams. Probably not worthy of extending a contract into his decline. It was wise for the Twins not to offer an extension when he was so not early in the year.

I reviewed Dozier's decline prior to the Home Run Derby and what I've seen and what the data supports is that he is struggling against fastballs now when he used to thrive against them in the beginning of the year:

That would imply fatigue, an injury, a mechanics adjustment, or something along those lines.  Stikes me as fairly correctable.
