greengoblinrulz Provisional Member Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 according to Star Trib.....Carlos was activated for Sundays game & is the corresponding move to Manships callup. If they keep Komatsu, there will be another. WIth all the heat they are taking for wasting their #1 pitching picks, IMO if he is healthy & has a good run.....we will see him for nothing else than to prove a #1 pick of theirs made the majors.
greengoblinrulz Provisional Member Posted May 27, 2012 Author Posted May 27, 2012 2 perfect IP.....4 groundouts 2 Ks...28pitches/19 strikes........very nice
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 If healthy, Gutierrez, Gibson and Wimmers were all good 1st round picks... If not healthy, not going to pitch well.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Gardenhire said something to the effect of (paraphrasing) : If Komatsu gets through waivers, he does not foresee a trade worked out with the Nats to keep him. (and it makes sense. He will probably be in AA as far as the Twins' OF depth is concerned)
greengoblinrulz Provisional Member Posted June 21, 2012 Author Posted June 21, 2012 Back on the DL with a shoulder. Wonder who's more frustrated......Carlos or MN front office. Came off DL with 2 outstanding outings.....4IP 1h 6K then came 2 bad outings.......2IP 6h 5er finished with 3 great outings ....6IP 3h 8K No walks with 14K in 12IP since the first DL.....had to have the big club interested....leading up to draft, it was published several times how MN has only drafted 2 pitchers to make majors in last 7 yrs & they would love to add Guitierrez to that list (Manship/Slama the 2.....Gibson/Robertson could be Sept calls also) to get some fans/media off their case. Hopefully, Carlos isnt added to the Wimmers/Salcedo/Sollimon list & its just tendontitis type & can be back later this year.
Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 On Twitter: Matt Maloney asks Carlos Gutierrez if he "had his stuff figured out yet." Gutierrez replied, "Going under Friday." I would assume that means "getting the knife"... and that "can't be good."
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 How many first round picks are going to need surgery for the Twins? This is getting stupid.
Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Arthroscopic shoulder surgery is what he's going to have.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 He's disappointed, but looking at it the right way. He said that it was what had to be done, and once it's done (tomorrow), he will be focused completely on 2013.
