Circus Boy Verified Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 The second Arcia hit his grand slam, I said to myself: "The slump will begin in 3, 2, 1..." And it did. After a big hit like that, young players want that adrenaline surge every time up, and so they go fish. Now, having expected the slump, I now am confident he's enough of a gamer to correct course and start getting good swings.

Brandon Verified Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 If you move out to the west coast most Twins games start at 500pm and 700pm is typically the latest start time. I think tonight's game starts at 7:10.

I would groan every time LNP hit a homer, rare as it was. He would then swing from his heels for a month. It always seemed he was more embarrassed that he didn't hit homers than he was about his batting average. Not a good attribute for an on base guy. It wasn't the fact that Arcia was hitting home runs but how far he was hitting them. Also a sign of swinging too hard. Arcia did have some bad luck as well this week. At least 3 line drives to first caught. Seems to have a little more upper cut to his swing now.
Dantes929 Verified Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I was never one of those with East Coast envy. I would rather beat the White Sox than the Yankees so last weekend was good for me.

Must be getting old. Couldn't think of who LNP was for the longest time. Little Nicky Punto, of course.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Excellent stuff as usual
Brad Swanson Verified Member Posted June 24, 2014 Author Posted June 24, 2014 Excellent stuff as usual Thanks, i really appreciate that! For the record, I don't care which time zone we use so long as everything I enjoy starts right around the time I get my baby to go to sleep and ends when I get tired. I'm not greedy.
Twins Daily Admin Verified Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I've been wondering who to blame about Arcia's slump. I'm glad to hear it's Brad.
tshide Verified Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Great article, I look forward to this every week.
