Hmmm...I've suddenly noticed that the Twins win, and sometimes kick ass, when I keep my yap shut all game.

...but then, I cant really post when I'm pitching.

Your namesake did himself proud.

My namesake is actually in Italy doing herself proud as one of the best middle blockers in the world.

Woohoo! Watch here for the next game's lineups. When I see they are up, I will post them in thread. I don't think Brian will be thinking again ... once a day is enough for him. ;)

If Brian can't give us 6 more points of entertainment for the 2nd game, than I'm out!

I have a work function and will be out either way

Gibson's in the hot tub. He'll throw the first three innings tonight, then Pelfrey for four, followed by Duensing, Tonkin and Fein to close it out. Somehow we have to get another starter a win.

Make that Pelfrey for three, Deduno for three, etc. and you may have called it.

Let's look back on the roster decisions from spring training:

Gibson as 5th Starter - Good

Keeping Kubes after awful spring - Good

Colabello as your 25th player - Good

Pinto as your backup catcher/DH - Good

Bartlett - can't get them all right

Deduno in the pen - jury is still out on that

If you said we'd be 7-7 after 14 games at the beginning of the season, I would have taken that in a heartbeat. Now lets see if Pelfrey can get straightened out.

If Colabello were the 25th player on the opening roster...

With Riverbrian's brain sitting in the hot tub, here's something completely different to think about between games:

Need to work out interplanetary signing budgets...

Especially if those players are good at playing baseball on a planet made entirely of styrofoam packing peanuts.

The game notes on the ESPN recap of the day game were interesting.

1) Gibson is the first Twins starting pitcher to be in the opening rotation and win his first three starts since Livan frickin' Hernandez in 08! Ugh.

2) Gibson managed to prevent Melky Cabrera from getting a hit, which snaps his season-long hit streak.

Call 911. That's hypothermia.
Here in Arizona it's Emergency Services.

How in the world is this team scoring as many runs as it has?

Team is just talented. Full of hard workers, guys who bring their lunch pails to work.

They go and get it. Scrappy, full of heart. Never quit. Fearless. Twins Baseball.

Pelfrey:

First order of business - get into the stretch.

Check

Second order of business...head to the shower?
