Hate’s a strong word, but I do agree with the OP that the Pohlad family played a switcheroo on which figurehead does what, but at the end of the day, it’s the same family owning and running their entire suite of businesses and until things actually change with how they run the Twins, we should hold that family accountable.

I don't think the Pohlad family played switcheroo at all. I think Tom's the guy. I like most of what he's said. I like most of what he's done including absolutely loving how quickly he canned Falvey's ***. From running around delivering hot dogs and $20s to Trevor Plouffe to the happy hours on Fri/Sat to convincing the actual financial owners to open the checkbook at the trade deadline. Tom seems committed to doing what he can to get fans interested and to delivering an overall ball park and game day experience which is improved.

Tom Pohlad is the controlling owner. He does not have full control over money. That's Jim, Bob and Bill, who are the REAL owners. That said, ownership feels different to me. I got my Royce Lewis jersey this year. I was unable to get my Correa jersey as a season ticket holder with club level seats a couple years ago. Those kinds of things make an impact. Maybe it has more to do with a weaker fan base? It doesn't matter because the experience was awesome. Killer jersey too.

The game day experience is BETTER this year than last, even with lousy attendance, the game is better.

Clarification, by "I think Tom's the guy" do you mean 'tom is the guy in charge' or 'Tom is the guy that will get this organization turned around'? Because either is a valid reading of that first sentence but one is obviously much more hard to swallow than the other. 

As for what he's said, it's as valuable as the dirt on the bottom of my shoe.

And as for what's he's done, he stepped in and halted a rebuild in the middle of the process which helped the Twins be slightly better in 2026, but damaged their future prospects so I don't know why we're supposed to be a fan of that.

Holding executives responsible for the deeds of their organization SHOULD be the bare minimum, not a conspiracy theory. 

Why are you constantly trying to launder the reputations of the Pohlads here? Are you an employee? Is this one of those things, like if you're a cop you gotta say it, otherwise it's entrapment?

I think he means "Tom's da man" though he also has made it clear he believes the CEO has absolutely no responsibility for anything the organization does so I'm lost too.  

Honestly though as much as I want to rip the "I like what he's done" when what the sum total of what he's done is run a $100m payroll (about $40m less than the Kansas City Royals) with the team projected to come in under their preseason projection of 78 wins in a historically bad AL - I can't do it.  This year in particular has shown me that there are just a lot of fans who like going out to TF on a nice summer day.  That's who the Twins are for them, a nice way to spend an evening.  Minnesota men's sports fans have been emotionally punished so much that we have quietly and collectively come to the realization that we cannot and will never ever win anything meaningful, so it's not worth getting all worked up about winning.  Just enjoy the game, the crack of the bat, the smell of the grass, the ballpark experience.

And I can't argue with it, even if I'm a different kind of fan.  It's actually probably a healthy reaction, even if the Pohlads take advantage of it and as a result we are stuck in an endless loop of mediocrity.

If you mean Falvey's departure, it certainly seems like he quit. Tom was ready to start the season, but then Falvey likely asked about the payroll direction because he rightfully realized that they either needed to spend some money OR they needed to recoup future value. When Tom told him to do neither, Falvey probably figured he'd seen enough here. Why drown on sinking ship when you're not the captain?

And I didn't love having Falvey here, but I don't blame him if that's why he left. Standing pat last offseason and not finishing the rebuild was the worst of all possible choices.

Falvey left because Tom split up the Operations and Business duties like it has always been done.  Falvey didn't want to give up the business duties and wanted to continue to do both.
