Not a lot of difference between moving Polanco or Julien to 1B…….I agree, Polanco has a better chance……still not very bright!

Gallo will play v. RH starters until Kirilloff gets back, like it or probably not!

1B is one of the easiest positions to play.  It’s where you put DHs when there is no opening at DH.  Julien can play 1B and a better fielding Polanco can handle 2B.  If it was spring training then by all means keep giving Julien reps and instruction at 2B.  But we are in a playoff push and every advantage adds up.  Polanco is a plus defender at 2B, while Julien needs work.

I think the plan is to have Lewis up for next Tuesday against Detroit after a week in AAA. I don't see it being a rush if we wait through tomorrow to see if Solano recovers and if not, we back date his IL stint the 3 days and he goes on effective today. We then call up Lewis for Friday in Philly. He'll have 3 days in AAA instead of 6.  He' is going to play every day regardless whether it be in AAA or with the Twins. 

In the interim, please no Joey Gallo at 1B. Polanco or Julien, please. Let's at least see if that works.

Since there's really no other place to put it: rehabbing major leaguers in the minors is one of the dumber MLB traditions; one I hope dies soon. If a player needs to rebuild strength or flexibility after a long lay-off or specific injury, it makes sense. But a straight-forward injury like Royce's is either healed or it isn't. Once he's ready to go, he should be on the big-league field. We're currently wasting about a week of production @ AAA. For no reason whatsoever outside tradition.

Can you imagine the Wolves sending Ant or KAT to the G-League for a week of starts coming off an injury? No, because it's idiotic. You're just risking further injury with no discernible upside.

If the idea is to test readiness in a game situation - fine, give them one game @ AAA. But once the question is answered, get them out of there.

If you believe the stat gurus here at TD, Polanco is -2 at 2B………Julien is -1 at 2B ……….Farmer is +1 at 2B.

Thus, Farmer starts at 2B against LH pitching and Julien starts at 2B against RH pitching.

Polanco is becoming expendable. If Kirilloff is healthy, I think Polanco is gone or should be. This assumes Castro is on roster and healthy.

Gallo’s flexibility on D, while Kirilloff IS hurt, has him going nowhere.

Solano had 3 hits Sunday - should be able to play first by now after being off since Sunday afternoon. He & Gallo have first covered until Kirilloff is ready to go.

I guess it's 'fortunate' Willi got 'hurt'.

Has it been announced Will C on Il and Lewis up? I was hoping for Keuchel DFA, Lewis up. We don't need a 5th starter until 8/26 with the 3 upcoming off days. 

Just saw it. It is Willi C to the Il, Lewis up.

The 5th starter need is to start managing innings and setting up for the playoffs. The typical rotation is going to change in the next few weeks.
