  1. And yet again it looks like Gibson won't make it out of the 5th.
  2. Yes. Really. Price threw the ball in the dirt earlier. A good throw and the batter is out. Ruled a hit. Polanco was screened by the runner. He didn't see the ball until it was literally on him. What is he supposed to do?
  3. Doesn't Gibson know what play is supposed to be on?
  4. Wow. That's a tough error based on plays that aren't called errors.
  5. Get the bullpen cranking. The 5th inning meltdown is upon us.
  6. I like the nice LOW target Giminez is giving Gibson.
  7. Let's see if he actually makes it through 5 innings.
  8. I don't like the chances of Fort Myers playing one tonight. Forget two. Going to rain for 2-3 more hours.
  9. Is Ron Coomer still on the payroll? The guy used to own a hitting academy.
  10. Lots of hitters change their swing during their careers. In retrospect, it is obvious that the previous regime was focused more on getting Buxton to the bigs to justify trading away his predecessor in CF. it doesn't seem like they cared if he was actually ready to succeed at the MLB level.
  11. You have to crawl before you walk. If this approach results in more contact, it's a start. He can work on driving the ball AFTER he masters actually hitting it.
  12. Actually, his third.
  13. Should we be concerned about Gonsalves' HR rate? 5 allowed in 41 IP. He allowed just 1 in 74 IP at AA last year and 2 more in 65 IP at high A. So, a homerun every 45 IP last year to one every 8 IP this year. That has to raise flags.
  14. Well, there is one potential issue. If the Twins decide to bring him up at some point, they'll have to move some else off the 40 man to do it.
  15. I notice that Gonsalves has given up 5 long balls this year in 40 or so IP. He gave up just 1 in 70 odd innings at AA last year. Something to monitor if he, as many expect, gets bumped to AAA soon.
  16. Maybe Pressly will be the 26th man Saturday with Santiago starting a game on short rest. Then Belisle released after the double header with Gee starting Sunday. Then Gee could be sent down/out with Pressly back up. If I read the rules correctly, being called up as the 26th man and then being sent down does not reset the 10 day clock. Nevermind, that wouldn't work. Gee can't come up this weekend unless it is as the 26th man. I do think I am ready to see Pressly get a longer shot with Belisle out though.
  17. You'll just falefel if you don't have a waffle.
  18. Well, you know what they say: You can't drink all day if you don't start before noon.
  19. There's also the friendly competition factor putting Santana and Berrios back to back. Anything you can do, I can do better...
  20. I suspect Hildenberger will prove to be more effective vs RHB. Most sidearmers are. SSS, but he's struck out 3 of 7 RHB he has faced. His minor league numbers suggest he will fare far better vs RHB as well. He has struck out 1 of 5 lefties, 1 of 3 righties in AAA.
  21. I think it would be a greater challenge to navigate a 162 game season with terrible relievers.
