    Also, I am VERY concerned that Mauer may have already played his last baseball game. When diving for a ground ball carries a risk of relapse (however small), he is likely going to take a (justified) long hard look at his future. Balance issues and sensitivity to light WAY more concerning than a refractory headaches and neck pain. Very much hope that I'm overreacting

    The Washingon Nationals also have injuries.... But they chose to use it as an opportunity to bring up their young(er) talent (19 y/o)that was producing in AA (Hey Twinkies, sound familiar?) I'm not disappointed by that the Twins FO took a flyer on Lynn and the injuries are not their fault obviously. They ARE responsible for how the react to problems, and that currently leaves A LOT to be desired. Let the young talent that will be part of the next championship push start getting reps (with all due respect to Grossman, Lynn, Petit, Adrianza, and Cave, they are definitely NOT part of that future push) To Gordon, Wade (when healthy), and Gonslaves, welcome, we've been waiting. To Petit, Grossman, and Lynn, thank you for your service. It's Time

    I'm worried about Mauer.... Any strange reports about injuries from the neck up has to raise concerns about return of his post-concussive symptoms... Man do I hope my worries are unfounded. Get Well Joe!

    Esteemed FO, I hate to pile on, but you have seen Lynn pitch right?! I don't want to come off as arrogant but I'm pretty sure I can best an ERA of 7.47, WHIP of 2.04, and 4ish average innings per start. I'm ready when you are! Yours Truly, Gonsalves

    Your Honor FO, We would like to present our closing arguments featuring the evidence from the last 4 hitters in todays MLB box score with current BA (OPS): Grossman: 0.231 (0.646) Buxton: 0.156 (0.397) Adrianza: 0.213 (0.535) Wilson: 0.158 (0.530) We are not experts in advanced metrics, but it seems like sustained winning will be difficult with this strategy.     It was a mistake putting him in the pen the first time and it would be an even bigger mistake this time. Solid starters are hard to come by (just ask Lynn if you don't believe me)....bullpen arms can be acquired an/or signed much easier. If May is sharp and the FO is concerned that they will aspirate on the sunk money to Hughes and Lynn, then he should START in AAA until someone comes to their senses. If a chain needs to be yanked, yank the flailing veteran on a one year contract, not the chain of someone that could be part of a long term winning team

    Labrum surgery is tricky and outcomes more unpredictable than other sports injuries (except 'thoracic outlet surgery'). Joint can end up too tight or too loose. If it was the throwing shoulder I'd be VERY worried but alas, it is not, so he's got a shot.

    Not pretending to know for sure that Gordon would stick (but I do think he is a tenacious competitor).....just think that given his performance and the Twins need for a better bat at the position warrant a shot (Also like the idea of Wade as 4th OF....just hate the inflexibility of having Grossman on the roster)

    Worlds greatest mysteries..... Does string theory really prove there are 11 dimensions?..... ....and why hasn't Gordon gotten a shot with Palanco out given the other underwhelming options? (and not necessarily in that order)

    Where has Rooker been? Injured? All the early season turmoil seems to have really thrown Vargas off. He is really struggling. Anyone know what is holding Gordon back at this point (honest question)?. I think it is time to get his MLB party started

    The future needs to be now. Gonsalves and Slegers need to be breaking in with Romero. (and Gordon needs to be up while Sano is out playing every day but that is another thread). Young and hungry is exactly the infusion this club needs. Hughes is done. No more pontifications, ruminations, perseverations, machinations or-most-importantly- rationalizations. Lynn can go to long relief and EARN his way back into the rotation. He is on a 1 year contract....short leash. Now back to your regularly scheduled recognition of MiLB starting pitchers.....

    Agree that Buck out is a big difference. But, the other big difference between this year and last is obviously Santana. His lights out pitching single handedly kept us in the race, especially in the first 3rd of last season. I feel like we'll find a groove as the weather warms, but I'm also worried that we'll have dug too deep of a hole by the time we do.....we just don't have the talent to start from a deep hole

    Dear Twins Front Office, I know that you want to come off super smart with your fancy stats and all, but I promise that I can give up less than a run per inning without the headache of picking up the New York Yankee's cast offs. Oh, and I've seen Romero pitch, and yeah, I actually thought I should be far more worried about HIM blocking my path to the majors, even without the benefit of fancy stats.     Good to hear that the control looks better. Good MLB hitters lay off his offerings that spill out of the zone unlike what he got away with tearing up the minors. This results in high pitch counts if not high run counts and taxes the bullpen over the year. We still need to see an extended period of control with low pitch counts before I can be officially excited. Boy to I hope though!

    If and when Romero reaches his 1A potential we are officially a WS contender. The current rotation is sufficient to make the playoffs over a 162 game season, but for playoff results and overall team swagger, we NEED that 1A (please be a 1A....please be a 1A....PLEASE be a 1A)

    Love the roster flexibility that comes with Granite over a long season and hate the inflexibility of Grossman and Vargas. Especially when the bench numbers are limited. And with the addition of Logan, I think HR potential off the bench is slightly less needed.

    Price is definitely coming down... as his agent is pulling out both the classic desperate leaks... "Got a offer from another team!" "Going to make a decision by the end of the week!" With a new splash of "Are we sure there is no collusion going on?" Translation to all of the above: "Holy @#$%, this is NOT the market we anticipated" Now that the price has come down, don't get too cute Twins....there will not be another opportunity when the Big Boys wake up for next years FA ready to EAT.
