Bill Buckner wanted the pitcher to cover first on just about every grounder he had to field, especially later in his career due to his bad ankles. This would inflate his assist totals and at first glance would make it look look like he had great range, which he did as long as the ball was hit directly at him. Well, one time that didn't work out so good.

Interesting that Vaske answered the question about why are the Twins hitting now and he replied guys are trying to put the ball in play, hit the hole, hit behind the runner, etc. How long have we been harping on that one around here. Great to see.

In other news, Eddie Rosario started in CF today for the Washington Nationals, and hit a 2-run home run off Emilio Pagan. I really don't know what to think about that.
