  1. Besides Kepler and Sano none of the hitters on the Twins roster that is under 30 years old have shown signs of plate discipline in the minors. Is that on Brunansky?
  2. Since 2011 until now, Perkins velocity according to fangraphs: 94, 94.9, 94.9, 93.4, 93.7, 91.2. Only like 3.5mph lost since his peak, nothing that isn't manageable.
  3. Remember velocity isn't everything.
  4. So... the Jepsen that had the decreasing strikeout numbers, and increasing walk numbers before the trade last year, is this that Jepsen?
  5. If that was the Royals or Diamondbacks the Orioles would have to worry about retaliation. #cutter
  6. Ahh Dick and Bert. Dick makes the point about Mauer pulling a pitch and Bert trashes the idea. "Mauer pulling a pitch? NEVER!"
  7. Completely expected, since it gives way to the older players.
  8. So far Rosario has shown little power and little plate discipline. Those combined severely limit his potention.
  9. Arcia has put up better numbers the past three years in the majors than Rosario has at AA/AAA. Why is Arcia less, "Consistent? "
  10. Pitchers with sub 4K/9, and career numbers like Pelfrey's are not aces. Joe Mays just called and would like a try out too.
  11. The last 5 hitters today: Rosario, Escobar, Nunez, Hicks then Santana are really sad. All 5 maybe have, what,15 total walks this year?
  12. I still have you on Facebook, same as these two knuckleheads above me. Jerks.
  13. MIke Pelfrey ace? No. Mike Palfrey good? Meh. Career ERA+ of 90, career FIP of 4.24. He is what he is. A mediocre pitcher. Just like Santana's minor league numbers were mediocre and a .400 BABIP last year suddenly made people forget that. Or Escobar's minor league numbers were mediocre and after last year that was forgotten?
  14. We need to organize more Mormon backed hate legislation. The Prop 8 stuff in California worked well to polarize people against the anti-gay legislation around the US, the marriage crap here in MN worked the other way and got the legislation to approve it here. A few more hate mongering bills and the US will be right there with Ireland because of the backlash.
  15. "Good teams?" I'm not sure the Twins will be considered a, "Good team" by the end of the year.
  16. Vargas, Pinto and Arcia sitting in a tree... wait, oops. Wrong forum. Santana to AAA. Nunez, Stauffer, DFA'd. Voila room for the AAA players who should be playing at the MLB level to see if they're actually capable of doing so. This Twins are in first place crap suddenly turns them off of the rebuilding they need to do?
  17. Fro and OFX both de-friended me on Facebook a while ago, and now they don't post here? What jerks. I miss MNrob, though his cray-cray was the old ESPN boards. I see Dave on Facebook with a few other BYTO posters. Though I have forgotten which Facebook person is Levi and which is Pseudofool.
  18. Malone might just say, "Send me back to AAA" after this game.
  19. Just to throw this out there for fun. Hicks' OBP is higher than Span's this year. Slight ray of hope.
  20. I'm just shocked Pelfrey and his awesome downware arm angle suck. In his 5 seasons where he's thrown more than 150 innings his best ERA+ was 113. His other ERA+ were: 81, 107, 78, 77. That's the track record worthy of a two year deal.
  21. I am more shocked that someone would cry over hugging Carlos Gomez. Derek Jeter? Sure, I'd sell my first born to hug Captain America, but Gomez?
  22. Ugh, I'm such a Minnesota sports fan. I'm completely resigned to the fact I believe Kuemper is going to lay a big fat turd on Wednesday.
  23. The decrease in the, "Just rub some dirt on it" mentality, the increased use of MRI, the increased use of specialists such as Dr. Andrews and the increased awareness of injuries are just a few reasons why surgeries maybe more frequent. Or maybe the MMR vaccine. It causes autism, right Jenny McCarthy?
  24. If it was the Twins medical staff he'd be day-to-day until July then require a thumb amputation.
  25. At this point why should the Twins worry about Willingham getting at bats? Besides injury currently, his season last year was atrocious and he has no real value to the team past this year. It would be great to think about how he's a power hitting DH but do the Twins need to play a 35 year old DH more than Pinto or Arcia? Unless he comes back from the injury absolutely rakes and can be traded for a living person he has no use past this year.
