  1. Buxton finished 18th in MVP voting in 2017 while slashing 253/314/413 while it's debatable whether that is considered "in the conversation", if he keeps up his current 278/336/500 line, he'll be on more than a handful of MVP ballots this year
  2. five minutes later, down he goes
  3. occasionally at work i'll have a good day and make a few extra sales. then my boss offers to let me leave early and suddenly a good day turns into a great day. nothing pumps me up to come back to work more than a day like that
  4. I've heard rumors of a "nap room". i want one at my job
  5. i'm starting to wonder if wes johnson is some sort of wizard
  6. sunday too. happy to see garver starting 3 of 4 over castro since astudillo went on the IL also good to see mauer back at target field. his time in the booth on espn was great... bland and typical mauer. i loved it
  7. at this point ... 9 innings pitched into his major league career as a 30 year old rookie. i think the league will make adjustments i like the 'career minor leaguer makes the show' story as much as anyone else, but if we're still talking about ryne harper in august, it's because the twins are 10+ games out
  8. i'm not sure about my dad, but i don't expect bert blyleven to say his name correctly one time this season
  9. i had no interest in Odorizzi when he was worth a top ten prospect, but this, this i like a lot
  10. i have no problem with a move like this. the current bullpen is terrible all around, so if chris heston comes in and pitches 3 mediocre innings before being DFA'd, whats the difference? if he catches lightning in a bottle and pitches well for two weeks before he's DFA'd, that will be an improvement over what we've got right now
  11. i'd like to see Adrianza or Goodrum on the team for no other reason than it would likely mean Danny Santana is no longer on the roster. Adrianza can't hit and Goodrum definitely isn't a long term solution. But they both have one thing going for them... they aren't Danny Santana
  12. hopefully its been ruled out. personally, i'm kinda tired of watching middle infielders play terribly in the outfield.
  13. i'd hate to lose Tonkin without seeing what he could do when used properly. but if Molitor refuses to use him any other way, whats the point of keeping him around? i was a firm believer in Duffey as a starter, but i'm afraid that ship has sailed. i think his curveball can work well out of the pen though so i'd keep him there. personally, i'd probably DFA Breslow and if he doesn't catch on anywhere offer him a job in the analytics department
  14. while dreaming about signing top tier free agents can be fun, reality is that none of these guys or any top tier free agents are going to sign in Minnesota until they prove they can have sustained success. their only hope would be to outbid every other team and hope the player values money over winning. which, i don't think is as common as many people would believe, especially for the top tier guys who are going to get paid no matter where they go arguing about who they should target and how much they should be willing to spend or commit in years is moot until the Twins can entice free agents with something other than money
  15. Because he would have given Belisle 2 years and 6 million
