  1. I think everyone has already forgiven him for failing badly last year. I hope he does well, but what is well. Six innings, with a couple of runs. Strikeouts are boring besides that they're fascist. Let just keep winning.
  2. Isn't it really crazy that ex-Twin Nolasco is the opening day starter for the Angels.
  3. Plus Twins sign Ben Paulsen to a minor league deal, with a promise to attend major league camp. Another possible 1B/DH type
  4. Lets stop the Arcia comparisons. He is 10 for 77 in his most recent games. Vargas has improved and has done better at making contact. Plus he is a switch hitter. Vargas needs to be involved next year 5 games a week in a Twin uniform.
  5. Theres playing aggressive and there is playing without a concern for the team. A mistake in the first 4-5 innings is one thing, A MAJOR mistake in the 9th inning of a game you have a chance to win is something else. My biggest complaint about Rosario is that he always wants to be the hero. He never does things for the team. When the Twins need a bunt, he should be lifted for a pinchhitter. He doesn't want to do that. He won't hit behind the runner when there is a guy on 2B. I will say he has a lot of talent and I hope those things can be corrected because he needs to play next year.
  6. Agree with the announcers putting the hex on Buxton. Today they did it to Dozier and Buxton both after their first 2 AB's. I wish they would talk about how poorly Mauer is everytime he is up, maybe he will start hitting better.
  7. Just catching up, but how can Berrios be having a good outing. Five runs in five innings with 9 HITS. Let's try to raise our expectations like we do for the other #4&5 guys.
  8. Apparently at Rochester opposing hitters swing at a lot of pitches in the dirt. I know the Twins are tired of the pitch to contact idea, but eventually you have to throw strikes or guys just tee off. Chargois has done nothing to impress anyone in his 4 or 5 appearances just like most of the guys coming from the best minor league system in baseball. Twins need to sit down and come up with a whole new plan.
  9. And Dozier laughs as he swings at that pitch. The reason this team competed last year for most of the season was because of a veteran like Hunter. No one left to call out the young guys in public and the old guys in the locker room. Pathetic. Need a veteran presence for next year.
  10. Again nice AB Grossman. Just try to hit a HR every time up. How about putting a ball in play. From Grossman that is even worse. He should know better.
  11. Rosario should be benched after that. Might have been the AB by him all season. The young guys do not take very many professional AB's anymore. Only worried about themselves. Tired of that attitude.
  12. Maybe the reason Berrios pitched well at AAA was well because it was AAA!!!! Milone had better stats at AAA then Berrios, but it doesn't mean he is going to win the Cy Young. Maybe the people who watched Berrios have given him too much hype. I mean Hicks was 5 tool can't miss guy too.
  13. Berrios needs to get some confidence heading into next season. Two play-off atmosphere starts at Rochester might help. He is not ready for MLB. And getting drilled every outing doesn't seem to be getting him any better. As Einstein said 'doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity'. I am glad the Twins are at least trying to find pitchers instead of just running out the same 8-9 like they have so far.
  14. How about if Sano could just play good for a week?
  15. The biggest problem Vargas has is that Sano can't play 3B. So once again we have 4 players with similar OPS possibilities that are going to play two positions. 1B and DH
  16. Remember all Tommy Milone at Rochester the last two years had 80 IP and a 1.5 ERA and under 1 WHIP. Big difference between AAA and MLB. Berrios needs time, but he can't keep giving up rockets everywhere. And Grossman as a way better OF defensively than Sano or Arcia. We don't need some computer geek to figure that out, Stevie Wonder would tell you that.
  17. Darn, just when he had some trade value finally. I was hoping the Twins could flip him for some starting pitching.
  18. Sano 2 AB's and 2 strikeouts. Hopefully that means he hits a homer in the 8th with 2 on.
  19. Giving up too soon on CF's? Like Hicks, he is at 190 avg and 541 OPS. Or Gomez, 215 avg and 608 OPS. Grossman is better than both of those guys. Twins need to know when to fold them. Buxton needs to figure it out by next July 1 or he needs to be sold for a box of baseballs.
  20. DL Buxton is genius. That is what should happen. But Polanco will get playing time squeezed and he should be playing. Unfortunately, he is like Nunez and without a position unless you move Dozier. But DL Buxton keeps everyone up who should be, and nobodys feelings get hurt.
  21. The problem is the roster in general. The Twins need more players like Polanco and less players like Vargas. They needed to get quicker in the outfield and infield. Having Sano/Arcia in RF was not helping defensively. They have Sano, Vargas, Mauer, and soon Plouffe to play maybe 3 positions 3B, 1B and DH. But Park is still looming down at AAA, and how do get him AB's. The management needs to make a decision soon and as always it may not be popular with everyone. Losing Arcia had to happen whether TwinsDaily people liked it or not. Now the Twins need to make a decision on Plouffe, Vargas or Park.
  22. Speaking of Buxton's futility, he has 190 AB's with an OPS of 578 which would be a concern, but if the Yankees keep playing Hicks who now has 215 AB's and an OPS of 535 then Buxton will not be the worst OF in the American League.
  23. By sending him down now, he might not break 2 Twins records: most strikeouts in a season and most errors. Of course when Plouffe comes back he can go back to RF and send Kepler down. But seriously he needs to have a more serious approach to playing D.
  24. And last year at trade deadline half of the bloggers thought the Twins could throw Kepler in to get a quality pitcher. I mean we had Hicks, Hunter, Arcia, Schafer, Robinson, and Walker and Buxton coming. No need for the German who might be able to hit.
  25. Well Kepler and Rosario are having good starts here. Now Berrios just trust his stuff and throw. If they hit it, so what, at least hit a pitchers pitch (Bert saying). But he looks like he nibbled all through the inning. Falling behind and then having to throw over the middle on hitters counts.
