  1. Hope Berrios gets out of the first inning. Reminds me of first 4 starts.
  2. I hope it is Danny. I don't want to watch Rochester 2.0 play. Need MLB ready pitchers. Tommy Millone in two years at Rochester has an ERA 1.50 in 12 starts with a WHIP under 1. We don't have any of those stats from pitchers at Rochester with maybe Berrios, but he is not going to win 15+ games for a couple of years. They need to keep at one quality starter. Twins can compete next year. I also hope i am wrong about Berrios. Better defense and less strikeouts and Twins are close. But starting pitching has been a disaster.
  3. Milone deserves this spot. At AAA he has a 1.66 ERA and 0.92 WHIP. In 44 innings he has only 41 K's but also has only walked 4 batters. Unfortunately, he will probably never be more than a #4 or #5 starter for anyone. Big difference from AAA to MLB. But that is what the Twins have right now. A lot of #4 and #5 starters.
  4. Trade Plouffe and/or Vargas to get a good young catcher. Move Mauer to 3B and then have Park/Sano as DH/1B options. I still don't think Sano can play 3B at a major league level. Make Mauer have to learn a new position.
  5. Maybe May needs a chance to start a few games. He is getting worse in the bullpen. He is 4th from the bottom in BB with 9 in 19 innings plus leader in wild pitches with 5. But he is 2nd on the team in K's. The Twins have so many problems right now that putting May in the starting line-up won't save the season and it certainly won't kill it.
  6. Yea, i think May could be a great closer actually. He has 25 Major League starts and has barely got to the 6th inning. Mainly because of his lack of control. Yes he gets K's, but he also walks a lot of batters. Even in the Minors he struggled as a starter to get to the 7th inning because he was all over the place. Terrible Tommy as everyone says avg over 6 IP p/start in the Minors where May is just over 5 IP per start. Tommy also had a 5 to 1 rate of K's to BB. May was 2.5 to 1. Now May certainly has better stuff than Milone, but in the long run he is at best a #3 starter which is fine. But i really think he could be a dominant closer. And right now the Twins need to find a dominant closer.
  7. Too bad for Tommy. Remember last year sent down to Rochester to prove himself. 5 starts, 38 innings, 3 runs, 4-0, 47 k's,. Name one pitcher that even has come close to that. Tommy is a GOOD #5, AVG #4 ML pitcher. I hope the young guys can pitch. I hated the mid 90's watching the Twins continue to run up supposedly big time pitchers from AAA that never produced. Meyer, May, Worley, Nino, Deduno, Diamond etc. All these guys were supposed to #2's or even a #1. But lets face it, only Liriano could've been a #1 with a few breaks. Hopefully the Twins don't lose 100 games this year trying to use all of these AAAA pitchers. If just a couple could pan out it would be great. I hope Berrios is as good as advertised, but lets not hold our breaths. Give him a chance. Radke was 22 - 30 his first 2 years in Majors w ERA around 5. Pitched over 400 innings. Hope Berrios can be close to that.
