  1. I agree with this. Too little humility when one is wrong. It doesn’t help to run noses in it - we are all wrong at one time or another. i was wrong about Santana and hope he continues to prove me wrong.
  2. I hear and feel the pain. The twins do not have a history of making adjustments well.
  3. Although, let’s be honest, the writers voted Raphael palmeiro a gold glove when he played 19 games at 1B as well as every Derek Jeter gold glove….. they are not bastions of unbiased baseball fans.
  4. The twins team marketing situation has cost votes for our players…but there are bigger problems. I have not liked the voting situation for a while….a lot of uneducated yankee fans voting for Rizzo and his 85 ops+.i think he was 3rd in voting. Yankees in top 5 in every position. Toronto also has similar voting patterns. Also take into consideration that players have all star clauses in their contracts - which benefit larger markets. Which means they (Yankees, dodgers) get another mlb advantage.
  5. Maybe he’s finally coming around and will get his hitting going. Any contribution is welcome.
  6. The spreadsheet probably says ‘0-10+ means he is due for a big hit’. Same for farmer - isn’t he supposed to be a clubhouse leader?
  7. It makes too much money for the mlb. They’ll never separate from the advertising. I’d like the abs system…but doesn’t the umpires union stand in the way of that?
  8. And wages have gone up to match the price increases? all of what you said paints a rose picture, however, your condescending attitude defeated your argument after you made decent points. Not a great way to convince someone. stubhub and SeatGeek have fees that can be onerous...yes, I noticed you cited pure prices without the fees. part of the experience is the ballpark food, but the rosy picture has to include the cheap way compared to what i was able to do. dollar dog nights have been around for a while…I should know having sat by the twins bullpen during the Knoblauch debacle… look, it still costs a good amount of money. Gone are the Wcco days which discounted tickets pretty well. I went to many games on a limited job’s salary. Flash forward to today, and I have a much better job but games do not fit in my budget much like they used to with much less money. That being said, attacking me was meaningless and unnecessary.
  9. Twins lost themselves - 1-7 RISP. I want more transparent umpire accountability and we have enough info to relegate and promote unworthy/worthy umpires, but the union won’t let that happen. That’s not why the twins lost. Their hitting strategy is literally too hit or miss…and we are missing a lot right now. Honestly, baseball is starting to lose me (Twins fan since 87 when I was 12). Between the payroll disparities, billionaire owners not spending money, tv contact junk, and lack of transparency/desire for excellence in umpiring, I don’t feel like baseball is a sport an average person can enjoy as much as they did back in the day. Tickets are way too expensive despite the fact their stadium was financed publicly. I just see greed and no accountability all over the sport. Please, someone convince me I’m wrong.
  10. Baldelli should stick up for his players more. When umpires are this inconsistent and bad, it makes you wonder if there is gambling involved………
  11. I dare say vanover is also intimidated.
  12. When was the Yankee payroll ever reduced because of TV rights?
  13. Larry Vanover has to go. He is either incompetent or gambles on baseball.
  14. ABS system needs to be installed in Yankee stadium.
  15. Seriously. Umpires should be observed for retention at Yankee stadium. They are terrible there — fired or AAA. i don’t care if they are union. Performance has to be professional.
  16. Easy solution. We can track missed calls…just give extra draft picks in round 4 of the draft to offset systemic bias in umpiring.
  17. Isn’t Castro 0-14 with men in scoring position with 9ks? Shouldn’t he be pinch hit for?
  18. Martin sent down. Castro will be kept. i do not agree, but I know the twins love their underperforming veterans.
