    I believe Pohlads are preparing to sell and move the team elsewhere. Target field's will expire in a couple years.

    It's unbelievable that they traded Varland. He was a growing favorite among the fans and was becoming one of the faces of the MN Twins. if a move like this is going to be made, irregardless of the return, you need to prepare and sell the fan base..., timing is everything. I firmly believe this was a vindictive move orchestrated by the Pohlads aimed at the fans. I cannot believe Falvey would have made this decision without ownership input.

    The reason I don't think a sale is imminent is because the salary dump would make no sense. But I'll tell you this, a sale can't happen soon enough.

    “a clear and deliberate decision to strengthen the next chapter of championship-caliber baseball.” I wonder how many times I've heard this teams front office say that these past 65 years. I've never seen the Twins management (rarely have other sports management teams) target and insult a fan base as was done with the Varland trade. It was like throwing salt on an open wound.

    Rocco's years as Twins manager have resulted in some of the most uninspired teams I've ever seen fielded by this organization. He should have been fired after last season's debacle but everyone was saying it was the Pohlad's. He's had some decently talented teams these past few years, but all he can relate to is the numbers.

    I heard Donald Trump talking the other day about a guy that in his view was "always too late and slow to respond..." I thought he was talking about someone in the Twins front office, but it turned out to be Jerome Powell

    Baldelli just doesn't have this team clicking, very similar to the last couple of months last season. Something is missing...communication, encouragement, motivation? Is he overthinking strategy and not connected with his team?

    That would be pretty sad, but like the grinch the Pohlad's will take every last crumb before they leave :(

    Trade him? No way, but I like the thought of moving him to 1st base.

    I think the only question is how much is the front office willing to pay in order to bring in a front line starter with a year or 2 of contract control. We know ownership won't chip in, that means giving up some very good prospects.

    I thought that was a pretty crazy trade proposal. If this team would get another top of the rotation starter they'd be set.

    Rather than trade away an asset or assets now is the perfect time to invest in the teams future by signing a starter like Jordan Montgomery. i believe that would be a long term investment that would pay huge dividends.

    Don't trade either one and solve the need for a starting pitcher by signing Jordan Montgomery. TV revenue or not this year, what about in a year or two when media revenues skyrocket?

    Dream on. The best this organization is going to do is sign a cheap and wild righthanded relief pitcher. This is exciting :(

    No way in he**. Giving up pitching prospects is something the Twins cannot afford.

    Don't turn a strength at this position into a weakness, nor do you want to do to Jeffers what they did to Mauer. Keep Vazquez and see how the season rolls and his true value might come at the trade deadline.

    I enjoyed the broadcast team but I agree, three in the booth is too many, to much talking. I thought AJ was particularly good with his analysis but they could do better on descriptions of individual player histories... in particular the non-house hold name players history. A little more homework needed to be done before the broadcast rather than rely on the script handed to them.

    If history repeats itself (and I believe it will), I'd bet the Twins end up with one player and probably not the one we'd want.

    I am fine with Falvey and Lavine standing pat at the trade deadline. A year ago the trades at the deadline only served to decimate the farm system. By not trading any prospects they have strengthened their position for the upcoming off season while still being able to achieve this years goal (win the division and make a run in the playoffs) My question is, who is responsible for signing Gallo? I asked this question the day after they signed him...check your blogs.
