  1. 1.933 OPS... http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Eduardo+Nunez+Minnesota+Twins+Photo+Day+xAXnkdCd3Fhl.jpg
  2. Mauer may end up being the only guy on the roster to finish the season with an OBP above .325. That's a problem.
  3. Agreed. Thus far, Park has been having quality at-bats (fouling off pitches, working the count, etc.). He hasn't been swinging at junk.
  4. I am still not yet tired of the "SWEET DADDY! BOOM!" commercial. I do not know why.
  5. For irony's sake, I'm going with Plouffe for MVP.
  6. Park did steal 48 bases in his last four seasons in Korea, and won 3 Golden Glove awards. It's not crazy to believe he possesses enough speed and athleticism to at least handle RF.
  7. Herbie was a great talent who could've had a great career. Instead, mainly due to his inability/unwillingness to stay in shape, he merely had a good one. I just hope Sano doesn't end up the same way.
  8. A manager who struggled with personal demons in his youth trying to show guidance to one of his younger players isn't cheap, in my opinion. In fact, I find the implication that Molitor needs to keep his mouth shut about his players' behavior because of his own imperfect past rather silly, with all due respect. As far as nobody calling out a young Molitor for his less-than-exemplary behavior, perhaps it would have done him a lot of good if somebody had. I'm sure he would say as much.
  9. Well, if Buxton had exactly two more hits than he does at the moment, he'd be hitting over .300 this spring (he's currently 8 for 33). Those darn small sample sizes!
  10. There's still no word on any team even being interested in Morneau.
  11. Gibson - 17 wins, 3.50 ERA Mauer - .285 AVG, .375 OBP Dozier - .250 AVG, 23 HR Escobar - .750 OPS, naysayers will still expect him to "regress" Sano - Leads MLB in BB, .400 OBP Park - .265 AVG, 35 HR, 100 RBI (assuming he's hitting behind Sano) Meyer - 25-30 relief appearances (mostly in 2nd half, obviously), 3.00 ERA, 10 K/9 All-Star representatives: Perkins, Sano
  12. Maybe "other options" means securing a release and simply leaving the $25 million with the Twins. We can dream, can't we?
  13. Is anybody else surprised Justin Morneau hasn't signed with anyone yet? I know he's pretty injury prone at this point, but he still appears to be an .800+ OPS guy. Anybody have any idea what's going on?
  14. Joe Benson didn't show much hustle in that run to home.
  15. "We're contenders now." http://cdn1.bloguin.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/110/2016/02/lou-brown.jpg
  16. .267 career hitter + Can play almost anywhere + Can steal a base (28 SB per 500 AB) + Entering his prime years + Postseason experience = Not a bad guy to have on your bench
  17. The only thing I can come up with is that he's struggling to wash away the "utility man" label in the eyes of some folks. If Nick Gordon's first four MLB seasons produce OPS's of .537, .628, .721, and .754, I imagine everybody would be thrilled by such steady improvement and celebrating how we FINALLY found our SS of the future. But when Escobar puts up those numbers, we need to find an "upgrade" at his position. Weird.
  18. Using a 40-year-old on his last legs is probably not the best example here. It's not definite that Escobar's WAR would increase with a full season at SS, but it's reasonable to expect it would.
