  1. If they had a "lucky month" of May, then they must've had an unlucky month from mid-July to mid-August when they went 9-21. Take away those two month-long streaks, and you're left with a .514 win pct. (54-51 record), nearly identical to what they finished 2015 with. They didn't overachieve at all in 2015. They were what they were - a slightly better than .500 team. If we accept that they'll be a better team than they were last season (it appears most of us do), then it should show in their record. I say 85-90 wins in 2016.
  2. This isn't the first time I've seen Escobar cited as a candidate for regression, and, frankly, it confuses me. He's improved his OPS every season he's been with the Twins, and he's still young. Isn't he more likely to get better than get worse?
  3. I remember Jose Reyes doing something similar to that a few years ago. It's a shame Anderson didn't have more belief in his abilities as a pitcher (he could have lowered his ERA).
  4. I don't know if he had enough good seasons to be considered underrated, but Allan Anderson won 33 games in 1988/89 and even won an ERA title. It's just too bad he accomplished those things in between the Twins' World Series runs, otherwise he wouldn't be so forgotten. Hell, Les Straker is probably more well known than Anderson.
  5. Ouch, that's a lot to give up for somebody not named Herschel Walker.
  6. I absolutely hate the idea of May being relegated to the bullpen another season, but I also think Milone - Starter/May - Bullpen helps this team more than May - Starter/Milone - Bullpen.
  7. Ah, thank you. I've been a happy Twins Daily lurker forever, but this eventful (so far) offseason made me want to join in a bit.
  8. I don't necessarily see Hicks flaking out Knoblauch-style, but New York is probably a VERY bad fit for him. Time will tell, I guess.
