  1. no way they give up a star Catcher for just Berrios
  2. i like this trade actually. not a lot but i like it. Hicks had 1 good month and i really don't think he's going to be better than Rosario, Sano, Buxton and Kepler who are all OFers of the future. not a big fan of Sano being there but has to be said. Also with Walker and Palka they may have a power hitting corner OF coming up in the near future
  3. With Free agency opening and one of the biggest needs being back end of the bullpen help which relievers should the Twins check out? Here are 5 guys i would like them to look into. 1) Tyler Clippard:RHP 2.92 ERA in '15, 2.18ERA in '14. He has spent time as set up man and has experience closing as well and with Glen Perkins struggles in the second half it might be wise to pick up someone like Clippard. MLBTRADERUMORS predicts a contract to look like 3 years 18 million. 2) Joakim Soria:RHP coming off a solid 2.53 ERA campaign, Soria would be a solid set up man as well. Soria also has 202 career saves. He's projected 3/18 as well. 3) Tony Sipp: LHP with Brian Duensing leaving Minnesota and the Twins not really having a solid Lefty besides their closer Perkins, The twins could look to a slightly cheaper option in Free agency in Sipp. In 2015 Sipp pitched in 60 games posting a 1.99 ERA, the impressive part to this is that along with shutting left hand batters down he kept Righties to a .190/.245/.374 clip. He's Projected 3/15. So who do you think they should go after?
  4. also, Byron Buxton is overrated. thinking he's going to be a starter in MLB to open the season is a little much. he did terrible in his stint with the Twins this year, he's played 10 or so games in AAA and he's the kind of guy that takes time to adjust. let him adjust to AAA pitching before you bring him into the MLB. I think he's got a lot of potential but i don't see him having one of the Correa type rookie years, i see him having a slightly better hicks rookie year.
  5. 1) either way they are hurting the defense. Plouffe is a much better 3rd baseman, and our OF is better than Sano so that point cancels out. 2)The Worst GM in baseball just traded Chris Herrmann for possibly a safer version of Adam Walker. 3)The Brewers don't want Plouffe, if they are rebuilding they will want pieces like Kepler/Berrios/Polanco not a 29 year old slightly above average third baseman. 4)You don't have to trade him. He's been healthy and a consistent producer for 3 years, It's been a year since Mauer got hurt... That means he's almost bound to spend some time on the DL. Plouffe is a great guy that you can use as a super utility. when Miguel has hamstring soreness we would have a reliable back-up. I'm not praising Plouffe, but if i don't get the exact type of deal i want I'm keeping that very valuable super utility.
  6. Trevor Plouffe the past 2 seasons is pretty comparable to Hanley Ramirez and Pablo Sandoval who signed for 22AAV and 19AAV.. No player has ever accepted a QO. And Plouffe would not either, a player at 31 would Much rather have a 3/39 or 4/52 over a 1/16.. Give him a QO if his numbers stay where they're at or better,
  7. If Hermann nets that kind of prospect I'm worried what the Twins will give up if they go for Lucroy
  8. AJ would be a great fit. Lucroy an expensive version of AJ..
  9. huge strike outs in A+ this year 28.5%.. but in 73 AFL league PA's only 16% .. while maintaining .787 OPS.. nice to see he can control it a little bit.
  10. IF CHRIS F#%$*N HERMANN can nab that guy Trevor Plouffe better get a decent return!
  11. TERRY RYAN YOU SLIGH DOG. What a steal... this guy basically is ABW. He should be a top 20 prospect with that power and even his OBP is there. and we trade Chris frickin Hermann for him
  12. for 1 he is 2 years younger, in his rookie season he hit MLB pitching while Hicks couldn't crack .200 until his 3rd and while he's at that he really only played good for a 30 game stretch. thats why
  13. the payroll projection is over 108M before Park signing, and zimmerman would add another 15 or so. for one it makes no sense saying they signed Park bc they plan on giving up the pick.. it probably is the exact opposite, they signed him so they DIDNT have to give up a pick
  14. sano's wRC+ was 151 in MLB, he was over 151 at every level in his career except single A in 2012 so the Miguel Sano info can be tossed out but i see the comparison of Upton and ABW, hopefully he works out.
  15. looking at ages 8 months ahead? lol sano and Berrios have May Birthdays
  16. rosario may not be a second baseman but his value is way higher than hicks right now.
  17. right now I'm thinking keep them all. at least to start the season. Sano at 3rd and Plouffe a super utility guy they can throw in an OF corner or corner IF any day they decide to. rotating would definitely keep the team healthier longer.. 81 games out of Plouffe, give Mauer more days off so he plays like 120 games to give plouffe a few more starts.. Whats wrong with having 1 great bench bat? perfect for the late and close games
  18. fella named david Wright maybe for the Mets
  19. i was really looking forward to some of those awesome bat flips... Turns out Park quit doing them to prepare for MLB.. dumb
  20. this sano to the they could be serious, but maybe they only plan on him being there for a short time. maximum 2 years until plouffe is gone and he could still be dealt if he starts the year hot and builds value. definitely do not trade both. maybe hicks is all i see
  21. I don't think the Twins would have Miguel moving to the OF in winter ball if Plouffe was going to be traded. Could be Hicks or Rosario..
  22. Trading Kepler or Rosario would not be smart
  23. The Twins are gonna have major problems this offseason... position players that are for sure gonna be on 25: Mauer, Dozier, Escobar, Sano, Park, Suzuki, Rosario, Hicks, Plouffe... Bench Back up catcher then 3 question marks.. Will need 1IF 1OF and 1 bench bat Choosing 3 of these names: Santana, Nunez, Arcia, Vargas, Pinto.. I'd probably Take Nunez, Arcia and Vargas to start the year but maybe would go Santana over Vargas to be IF/OF help with speed.... This Spring training is gonna be HUGE for Those 5.
  24. Not a chance I keep Vargas a 1B/DH over Arcia OF/DH. Arcia is a year younger and has already had a 20 homer season.
  25. the way Fien finished and Pressly was a great pitcher when healthy they are locks. Tonkin and Nunez most likely locks as well. and need one of those 2 catchers to back up suzuki
