  1. you realize free agent relievers don't cost us good players.. don't trade for one when the market is open with a bunch of them
  2. now that the Angels unloaded for Simmons i highly doubt they do the same for plouffe
  3. there is NO way that we could get Chapman for Gibson, and no way Arcia is equal to Jay bruce.
  4. 1/3 of MLB pitching has had TJ surgery according to bleacher report. And its rare to have a second. i like that he got it now rather than when he's in AA/AAA.. I think he comes back just as good.
  5. so thorpe has TJ he drops 5-6 spots on top 20.. Buxton gets hurt 2 seasons in a row- automatic number 1.. it was one surgery. he's the same on my list as he was last year at this time.
  6. Seager dominated in MLB in his stint there
  7. i actually really like this list even though its so different. Palacios probably does deserve to be up there after that year. Eades also with a very good year. The only question I have is why does Thorpe drop so much when he's still a teenager and has already past through low A ball with a 10/9 K rate. other than that its very interesting
  8. how is he not overrated? you really think he should be ahead of Seager or Urias? those two guys are gonna be way better than him.. we already saw Lindor, Correa, and Sano players who were all behind him outplay him by quite a bit
  9. thinking a GM didn't look around enough SMH
  10. they got a league average catcher. i don't think you understand how hard those are to find.. and to JOKIN, Aaron Hicks said that his success was do to him changing his swing and approach in AAA when they were just fooling around, good one with the Cashman quote about Torii
  11. they don't think he is. besides the 1 month in July he hasn't shown it either
  12. experts also considered Hicks at best a 4th outfielder and before July they considered him gone.
  13. the thing here is the Twins didn't make this trade to make Murphy the back up. He will start.
  14. at that point teams will know you are more willing to trade him and they don't give you what you want. or also if he starts the year like he has the first 2 season he played he wouldn't get a trade. thats the point of selling high
  15. Plenty of hitters have BABIP over .300 every year. once he becomes a starter his K% will decrease a little along with that BABIP... You just overrate Hicks way to much
  16. you're right i may have looked at this a little to viciously lol.. obviously I'm not the only one who believes he's hit his ceiling though as the ORG traded him.
  17. okay so you looked at 300 at bats and projected them over a full year.. projecting Sano hits 36 Home runs and wins AL MVP next year too?
  18. ???? Aaron Hicks became a 20/20 guy with a gold glove? holy $%#$ how long was i sleeping! lets be real man, his defense is barely above league average. His range is top 5 in the league, but his routes.. fangraphs will tell you how bad those are. At Yankee stadium id agree in hicks hitting 20 HRs someday but he will never have a WAR over 2 and our OF is packed with those kind of guys. Murphy is "NOT good" he's slightly above average defensively according to fangraphs and the bat isn't anything special you're right. He had a career .736 OPS in the minors, but even if that hangs close to .700 in the MLB he will be right around league average. whats wrong with giving up a 4th outfielder for a league average catcher? would you rather give up Berrios for 2 years of "Just above average but risky" in Lucroy because theres no way the Twins get him without giving up Sano/Buxton/Berrios/Kepler. for Christ sakes look how much Chris Herrmann just netted, a pretty good prospect
  19. i think Murphy will be the starter. He wasn't starting on his own team because the Yankees have a guy named Brian McCan who is one of the best catchers in the AL. He had a good bat in the 172 ABs he had last year. Hicks was sent to AAA after he forgot how many outs there were in a ST game with Molitor and was benched. All your other points are fantastic and I really enjoyed reading this.
  20. all of our line ups start with Arcia in a corner then at midseason its Kepler.. what if Oswaldo actually hits how he should, then what do we do? sell high at the Deadline and start Kepler or roll with the flow?
  21. i wish i could see them spending big on an OF'er but no way i see it happening if Park already is costing 6-8 AAV... along with a few M on a RP
  22. i can't believe people actually think Aaron Hicks had more trade value that Eddie Rosario
  23. but for real, Sano in the OF is a mistake. use plouffe as like the 6th man of a basketball team where he plays just about as much as the starters just isn't technically one of the starters. i like this as my line up to start the season 1) Buxton/Santana CF (depending on ST) 2) Mauer 1B 3) Dozier 2B 4) Sano 3B 5) Park DH 6) Rosario RF 7) Arcia LF 8) Escobar SS 9) Murphy C and with Plouffe mixed in at third, 1st, DH getting about 80-90 starts
  24. this is the first time I've laughed at a post because it was actually funny and not just dumb.. the ending where Arcia pulls his hammy got me dying over here LOL MAY 11th at home vs the Orioles
  25. I'm of the kind that look at the reports and see that he's an average catcher not a right fielder
