    I still wish that Molitor would allow the kid to hit against lefties in key spots. I understand the why, I just don't agree with the decision. Show some confidence in the kid and see where it takes you.

    I think what's impressed me most about Berrios this year is his efficiency. He's going deep into games while striking guys out. Obviously only walking one guy (also very impressive) helps that, but he's not wasting pitches like guys like Gibson do routinely. He's definitely the guy I hope the other top rotation prospects in the minors are watching very closely. Pitching with confidence, in rhythm, with a plan and without fear is a thing of beauty. It's an absolute pleasure to watch guys like that pitch. Something that we've only seen from opponents around these parts for quite a while.

    That seems really wasteful...and I'm not even a beer guy. Plus, wouldn't it make more sense to pour it on White Sox or Yankees fans?

    I feel like I'm still holding my breath with this team. I'm not sure what to make of them. I guess that really shouldn't be a surprise 10 games in, but I haven't really been able to see a hint of a what this team's identity is. There are things that I like and things I don't like at all. The offense is making me nervous with its inability to get runners in and the bullpen scares me. I don't like that Molitor has to hide two guys in the bullpen. I love the fight shown in the team. As a Molitor critic, that is one thing I give him a lot of credit for; his teams do not give up. They'll fight to the end and that will always serve a team and it's fans well. The rotation seems to have improved, but not enough to make a serious jump forward. I like that this team has held up well against some really hot teams so far this season. Short story long is that I guess that I'm still trying to figure this team out. Though, in fairness, I think the team is still doing the same thing. It's April, plenty of baseball remaining.

    I'd say that it's fair to blame the manager for bringing in a reliever struggling as much as Hildy is into a high leverage situation like that though. I can understand why he didn't bring Reed in, but to bring Hildy in was questionable at best. That allowed Houston back into the game. Just because the tools he's been given are subpar, that doesn't mean that he can't maximize the value they do have. Putting guys into a position to succeed is what a good manager does.
