  1. Well, technically yes but this series has showed how far this team needs to grow in order to become a true contending team. The difference between these two wild card teams is quite staggering.
  2. That's nearly as good as a win in my book.
  3. I'm not convinced that this bullpen would succeed even if it were.
  4. I was going to say that they were ONLY down 8 runs with the bases loaded. So you were kinder than I was going to be.
  5. This game turned in a hurry.
  6. For the guys unable to see the visuals, how bad was the Rosario play?
  7. For the team or the fans? They seem equally daunting.
  8. Yeah, the tendency to score runs and immediately give them back drives me nuts.
  9. That was a bit prophetic, unfortunately.
  10. As locked in as Mauer is, after 13 pitches it only seems expected that he get a base knock out of the deal. Great AB Joe!
  11. Veteran professional hitter frustrating the kid on the mound. Welcome to the big leagues.
  12. "Good day to you, sir!" [walks out of bar]
  13. Oh, it doesn't surprise me at all either. Regardless, I just found it astounding.
  14. Possible? I'd bet good money on it!
  15. The radio guys just read an Elias tidbit that I found astounding. Colon has only produced 4 swings and misses in his last 118 pitches (last two outings). That's crazy.
  16. The Yankees don't mess around with the national anthem do they?
  17. I think it is still fair to criticize Molitor on some of the usage of the bullpen and timing and perhaps the number of pitching changes, but the bulk of the blame does go to the FO for not doing more to improve the pen to start with. Molitor has certainly been handcuffed by the lack of quality arms and I think he's done a better job of managing it in the second half, but he's not without blame either.
  18. I let the dog out and missed the entire half of the inning. He wasn't out that long.
  19. Agreed. It's reasonable to expect your best players to step up when it matters most. I don't consider 5.2 innings to be stepping up...especially with this bullpen.
