  1. I have this icky feeling that the HR is going to be the only time the twins bats sniff a run. I don't like that feeling.
  2. I'd like some of those comments, Chief, but I'd run out of likes before the GT really got going.
  3. At least Garver could catch that one.
  4. Some things you just bring upon yourself.
  5. I'd hate to say "same story, same comment" but I'm not sure what to say anymore. Frustrating. With Detroit winning, they open a bit of a gap too.
  6. Don't forget that Sano watched strike three split the plate in two in his previous AB. Pretty brutal all around by the bats again. Grossman should never be the cleanup hitter. May as well keep Sano there if that's what you're going to do instead.
  7. A little surprised they sent Upton there. I guess they paid the price.
  8. I'm not sure where Rosario was down the line, but it was hit hard enough they probably could have gone home with it. Grossman was probably the easier play, but it allows the run to score even if Grossman doesn't cause the rundown. He was going to be the surer out either way, so I'm not sure I'd consider it a screw up.
  9. Wouldn't be shocked if they don't get it in at all today.
  10. Which makes the Duffy move even more baffling. He's been effective and clearly Reed and Pressly are overused, so why reduce the bullpen by another arm? I suppose that the logic could be that Molitor isn't going to use any other bullpen pieces anyway, why not bring up another position player... though I'm curious to see if he actually uses Cave.
  11. Thank you for all of your work on these, Tom. My work/life balance has really sucked the past two years and my time here, as well as games watched, has dwindled as a result. These game wraps are the one thing I make sure that I read each morning regardless of whether I caught the previous night's game or not. Thank you and keep 'em coming!
  12. Agreed, he just needs to clean up the mental errors. That's the only quarrel that I have with him at this point.
  13. I'm a big believer of doing the little things well. Close games go beyond managing and individual play, but collectively doing the little things well reduces the impact that luck plays into the outcomes of these types of games. Doing the little things goes back to the manager preparing his team. The disparity between the two managers is quite staggering.
  14. Relying on a 20-10 month to make an otherwise mediocre to average at best season isn't a recipe for long term success. Hence, we have what we have this season. Much of the same as what we saw most of last season. Perhaps gone about differently, but the overall outcome is the same.
  15. As much as things need to change, I'm worried that there won't be any significant changes to the staff or the roster aside from the FA's - which is kind of significant on it's own I guess. There's still time to right the ship, but they keep finding new ways to lose. I don't see anything happening until July. When/if things do happen, I just hope that they're in a position where the direction is clear. None of this damned if you do/damned if you don't scenarios like last season. Pick a course and then stick to it, also unlike last season. Like Darius said in the comment above, if you're trading Buxton and Sano, that's a rebuild. Those were supposed to be your cornerstones. I'm not sure that I'd go that far yet and I'm still willing to show a little patience with them, but that's wearing pretty thin. I'd maybe entertain trading one of them depending on the offers, but I'm not sure that a rebuild is necessary yet.
  16. This is unfortunate for multiple reasons, most importantly for Joe's overall health. Buxton DL, Santana setback and now this in a 24 hour span. Seems as though the baseball Gods are getting even for lasts seasons improbable run. I hope for a speedy recovery for Joe.
  17. What a beautiful night for baseball! Hopefully the home team doesn't ruin it. I'm interested to see what the attendance will be like. It's a good night for walk up sales.
  18. I think it was replaced with "studly" in the 90's. I don't know what that was replaced by though. We might need Vanimal's input on that one.
  19. Counted 431 pairs of shoes and not 531?
  20. MY GOD, WHAT HAVE WE DONE?!?!!?!?!?
  21. It's times like these, and like those for much of the last decade, where humor is the best medicine. It makes watching bad baseball more tolerable. Collectively, as GT posts and followers, it's therapeutic. It is for me anyway. I just wish that I were able to partake in more GT's. I need an outlet for my sarcasm. Also, shoes don't scare me either. My wife has more shoes than even she knows what to do with. Same with purses. Yet, I inexplicably bought her another one for her birthday a couple of weeks ago. She really liked it, but it's still sitting on the coffee table unused just like the vast majority of them in her closet. Oh well, she's happy at least.
