  1. Poor Cubs, still not getting any respect.
  2. I was thinking Sano likely wouldn't do anything less than 6/60M, so I'm either way wrong or not. I'd be shocked if he accepted less though, shocked in a good way.
  3. Mark Polishuk typed his name as Dylan McKay, which is the 90210 character, on MLB Trade Rumors and checking just now...it is still typed like that 3 days later.
  4. i feel the same basically. Though I also worry that Greene may only have one pitch, the fastball.
  5. I think I read somewhere that they were considering doing that, so sounds right to me. Don't ask me where I read it, because I really don't remember. Might have even been on twitter. Found it. Rhett put it on twitter on the 27th. Mejia will pitch there on Sunday (at the time it was labeled as fifth starter winner).
  6. He can play in the playoffs. I don't know the actual rule, but Russo who writes for the startribune said he can in a blog or article. And he's already burned a year on his ELC by playing tonight.
  7. True, but as gunnarthor pointed out, he has been looking better this spring training. Yes it's "just" spring training but last year during spring training he was at 34% k and 5% bb. This year so far he is at 18% k and 9% bb. So maybe, hopefully, he's figured something out.
  8. http://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/2/files/2012/08/6460472.jpg (I couldn't resist).
  9. interesting choice by autocorrect.
  10. They don't literally have to go to a hearing, they just have to be in their arbitration years so this applies to Santiago, Gibson, Kintzler, Pressly and Escobar (I think that was all of them this year).
  11. My understanding is that arbitration contracts are not guaranteed until the season starts. They can release Santiago during Spring Training and only pay him a certain percentage of that contract. He could get either 30 days or 45 days salary depending on when he gets released (I don't know the cut off time for either of those). So they wouldn't be able to get rid of the whole contract, but the majority of it, if they released him during spring training.
  12. I'm not. The MN sports-ness is my default setting. I have to remind myself that they have have 90 points and are a top five team in the league. It doesn't feel like they've been that good. And I still don't feel like they'd make it past the second round. I'd certainly love them to kick the mn sports out of me though.
  13. because he played for the Twins and is Alex's second cousin?
  14. Here's a link to what's going to be on tv: http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com/schedule/broadcast/index.jsp?c_id=min
  15. Good luck to Grady and Rick Stelmaszek who has pancreatic cancer. Just saw that one on twitter.
  16. Not sure they were originally interested though. Maybe they were, maybe they weren't. The reason they needed one now is because Rodriguez was injured in a car accident in late January and will be out 3-5 months. They got Phillips on the cheap, so would be surprised if they called to ask about Dozier. The Braves will probably have a Swanson-Albies MI by mid-season.
  17. Yeah, pretty sure it was reported somewhere that the earlier start is due to that.
  18. think he's been moved to 3B so he wouldn't fall under this category anymore.
  19. Rosenthal just posted an article about the Twins regarding chemistry/leadership. In it was this "while they failed to land Napoli – even after offering him more money than the Rangers, according to major-league sources the team’s new front office has made it clear that it values the intangible as well as the tangible." So, looks like they had real interest.
  20. Mike B just tweeted that Park is now on waivers.
  21. It was reported that they didn't want to include Stewart with DeLeon due to depth reasons, which makes sense to me. Not sure if that's true or not...but again, it makes sense to me.
  22. Ive seen several tweets since the DFA that said he wants to stay here. There was one posted last night or this morning repeating it. Can't seem to find it right now.
  23. No, waivers go by team record only in the offseason.
  24. Unless he's changed his mind, Molitor has already said he'd platoon Castro. He was interviewed not long after Castro signed.
  25. it could have changed, but this is a quote from one week ago: Levine: “I would expect in between now and opening day we’ll have added at least one or two pitchers to our mix to enhance both the depth and the quality within our 12-man staff.” That was from 1500's site.
