    I like Escobar. Still need infielder, unless w are going to a really radical shift philosophy next year. I'd be glad to have him back. Realistically, the Twins will make their list of priorities and Esco's agent will collect offers. The adds for resigning him are about 1 in 30.

    It probably wouldn't be much, but if he went on a hot streak and a few other things fell into place, there was a shot the Twins could give the Indians a bit of competition. That could have made a bit of an impact and had some goodwill carry over to next year.

    I will bet a good chunk of money on the under. That's 26 HR per year, and I would bet the under if 26 was line for his single-season high for his career. He's having a pretty good year this year, and he has 3 HR. I see his upside as adequate 4th OF.

    I would add that winning a few more games would get a few more fans to the park and generate a little more revenue which could be used to improve the team next year. I know, Pohlad, etc., whatever. I'm pretty sure he has seen the ledger for both winning and losing and the good side of the books look better when the team wins. Giving up on the rest of the season is not revenue-neutral.

    I was about to write that with the limited return we got for Dozier, I would have kept him for two months and hoped for a miracle - Dozier goes on a tear, Sano turns back into an all-star, Polanco gets back to where he was before the suspension, the duct tape holds in the bullpen, Buxton gets healthy starts hitting. With all the disappointment this season, it's easy to forget there was a lot to like about the lineup at the end of last year. I'd be happy to get stomped again in the playoffs this year.

    I'm on page 1 of 6, so this might have been the topic of discussion for 5 pages and I don't know it, but I would say doing that at age 19 or 20 instead of 22 (or doing it in AA at 22.) He was a 19th round pick last year and he's older that the league average. The good news is he's the throw-in on the deal and, while he has some catching up to do, he sure has been hitting so far.

    We seem to have plenty of other options they will find acceptable.

    It didn't appear that it was handed to them. Both had minor league track records that were superior to Rosario, and Sano had a Sep call-up that gave him the inside track the following year. I'm not sure what happened, but putting high expectations on them fairly early seemed rational to me.

    Belisle's spot would be first in line for that purpose, and I'm not sure we have enough useful arms to rotate two roster spots.

    Given the results of his pitching, that looks like reasonable attire. Belisle might want to consider that as well

    Honorable mention? That should be #1. That "very good" team is on pace to go 51-111.

    Cave and Grossman are deck chairs. Sano and Buxton striking out constantly are the iceberg. That said, the old deck chair is getting pretty worn and a new one might make the journey to the depths a bit more bearable.

    Sadly, our annual one and done in NY is in grave danger due to Molitor's golf schedule.

    At first glance I read that as Molitor will be DFA'd, and my thought was I like the idea, I don't think that's how it works, and what does Polanco have to do with it? The second glance made more sense but was a lot less interesting.

    In the photo, it looks he got into position and then timed his jump well. That's very unlike his usual technique, which is to run back at full speed, leap with total disregard to the location of the wall, and then crash awkwardly with bone-jarring force. Maybe DHS has better coaching (except for that wall direction thing).

    For his long-term health, he needs to stay away from walls.

    The last 2B from A&M I remember the Twins drafting worked out pretty well (for a while.)

    It was spent, then in-spent. Now it only helps if it's (wisely) re-spent.
