  1. There … moved the original from the minors to the majors and pinned it; then moved all the posts to this thread; and, finally, deleted the 2nd one. Let's go Twins! Play ball!
  2. You put it in the minor league forum … I'll fix this for you.
  3. Come on, guys. Stop some of this back and forth antagonizing. If your post is geared more to another poster and not the topic, don't post.
  4. So Polanco is being called up for one game???
  5. Man, I hope the Blackhawks pull this one out
  6. Thompson just doesn't have it these days
  7. I believe it was his character as a baseball player and teammate … not his personal character outside of that realm. But that was my interpretation. But I think Dave's estimation on this type of journalism in an earlier post pretty much sums it up for me. In the meantime, to everyone … off topic posts have been eliminated and/or edited as best they could. It's a great discussion to have, but not in this forum. If any of you wish to continue your discussion, start a thread in the Sports Bar forum. Please stick to the topic at hand and to baseball. Thanks.
  8. It's a glitch … for those using Firefox. If you use a double space after punctuation, it shows no space when you post. The trick is to use only one space after punctuation, then it reverts to normal. Those of us who once upon a time used actual typewriters, both manual and electric, were taught to use a double space after punctuation. So, it's difficult for us to revert to the one-space methodology which I have been told is standard and correct. Right, Brock? Edit: And, incidentally, there wasn't an issue for me using Chrome or Safari, so … and I think I have since learned to type only one-spaced after punctuation.
  9. Yeah, I'm not so sure it was a 'learning' trip … but not sure what he was specifically told as to why he was sent down. But I like big dog's comment above. Maybe it was to give him a little more drive and perspective? (Yeah, don't debate that one … it's a no-win to go down that road.) Honestly, I was a little 50-50 on the demotion, but am glad he's back up and I'll let it roll from here.
  10. If Hunter gets an extension I'm blaming you for putting it out into the universe so strongly! Seriously, though … I think I pretty much think this with a few exceptions ... I think Rosario and Hicks are definites into the the future (well, at least through next year), particularly if they DON'T sign Hunter, which I'm hoping they won't and don't. If they re-sign Hunter then one of Arcia (more probable in this scenario) or Vargas is gone. I think a pitcher will get traded at some point … hoping it's Nolasco, could be Gibson or May, so I put them more iffy, but I think Santana and Hughes are locks, and whomever isn't traded in the above 3.
  11. I don't think they flipped their viewpoint. I think there are those who thought Vargas should go down, and agreed with (not defended) the transaction at the time, but feel it was time to come back. Whether or not he 'learned' anything during that time, well, not sure about that, but we'll hopefully see him mash now that he's up.
  12. I hope not. The only way that happens if they trade a couple pitchers away. I know everyone thinks that's how the Twins roll, and based on the past, I can't exactly refute that, but I just don't think it will happen this time. (Hope!)
  13. Wasn't there a time when many were thinking May would end up in the bullpen and Meyer starting? Now it's the opposite, although I'm hoping Meyer can still get back to the rotation.
  14. I actually hope this move keeps them both out of LF, where neither belong, ever.
  15. If you had made that comment about Chief jumping out at Riverbrian, the ish/ick would be off the scales. But Hughes? Hmm, intriguing.
  16. Well, with Santana going down, Esco is the SS and Nunez is the util. guy so I don't think he'll be removed any time soon. I just hope he's restricted it utility IF and we don't see him in LF.
