  1. Okay, I can live with that … it’s an out anyway
  2. Actually I wouldn’t, but she would get my jinx lecture and the anti-curse
  3. No, they dropped that requirement sometime during the off-season
  4. Step away more often! (I missed it, too, as I just got home from a stretch session)
  5. This. I know they’ve had Gallo at first, which I think he’s pretty good there, but I think he’s a better outfielder than AK. The leg is probably why they were playing them the opposite.
  6. Shhhhhhh … I love the thought but don’t throw a jinx on it! 🙂
  7. There’s a new poster @UK Twin who I think is in the UK somewhere. We used to have a poster here from Germany somewhere. He may have been in the military and stationed there, but I can’t recall.
  8. They also held their own, imo, against the Dodgers. But they do need to start winning more of the close games to turn the tide. I think and hope they can as I do think they have a good team, albeit perhaps not great. They also can’t lose many to bad teams going forward. All I can say is ‘Go Twins’ and hope for the best.
  9. If you could find a way to make that happen, go for it. I've been suggesting that since the mid-00's ... change always begins at the top. Until then, it is what it is.
  10. Context, my man ... I was responding to a post complaining about today's game. If you read my other post, I think it's clear where I stand and what the meaning of that post was. And, for the record, I'm perfectly awake. tyvm. 🙂
  11. And the bats, finally, took advantage of it. That isn't always the case. Not saying that this is a turn-around, but I don't think today's game is one to tout as an example of all that is bad. Can't say that for all the games. Just saying, today's game isn't a good example of any of that, imo.
  12. The Twins have, I'd say, held their own against better teams. So ... I think there is a lot to be said for this. The Twins do need more fierce competition. In lieu of that, I hope they find a way to give it to themselves because I don't think they have a bad team. (Doesn't mean I think the team is great, but that this team has always had potential, imo.)
  13. And we won 9-3? Something worked today despite that.
  14. You hit the proverbial nail on the proverbial head
  15. Proves that winning and losing makes the difference? Yep.
  16. That’s how they’ve been all year. A screen shot of the lineups and go. The ones that Brian did years ago, yeah, very labor intensive, by both of us. Chief ran the schedule for a couple years, but stringer has done the schedule for much longer than that. And this year it’s been post and go.
  17. A random week last august and the game threads were 10, 4, 4, 6, 10, 5, 4 pages long. And that’s when the games were lasting 3+ hrs
  18. Agree. I like the idea behind the usage but yes, as you said, he has to be more efficient
  19. While it seems like we’ve had some unlucky losses, the play where Jeffers scores, it was a very good thing the catcher couldn’t hold onto the ball because Jeffers would have been out by a good margin, imo. So, maybe that was a bit lucky for us, for a change. I’ll take it, though. As you said, a win is a win, and I’m glad.for it! 🙂
  20. 1. Gray himself kind of answers that in the video clip in the article. I wondered, too, since I was only following on gameday and asked that question in the game thread. He threw 31 pitches in that final inning, starting off with a walk. He said he got out of it, but after the 2-run homer to come out and walk the first batter takes away the momentum. And he said it was the right call. Guess it’s hard to argue it if Gray seemed to think it was okay. And you know he’d say it if he didn’t think so 2. Your guess is as good as anyone’s. My question is why is he still even on the active roster … a question for the FO
  21. It’s interesting that they are using Duran for more than one inning. Will this then limit his availability or are they purposely stretching him out a little? I hope his shoulder holds up, though, considering how hard he throws.
