  1. They say these silly extra inning rules favor the visiting team … let favor shine bright
  2. But then Google how many are ambidextrous… and add it together
  3. I think I’m going to run to the corner market for a package of Oreos …
  4. Okay, so, he got out of a tight spot and still only at 76 pitches … at this point in the season, I think you have to let him start the next inning to see what he’s got.
  5. I don’t have the game on just following gameday … was he looking iffy?
  6. Okay, I hate to ask, but why take Gray out?
  7. Oh, I thought you were talking Chicago hockey
  8. Maybe saving him to pinch hit for someone else? Like … take your pick. Solano?
  9. You two confuse me! I see one post and think it’s the other and see the other post and think it’s the one!
  10. The randomness of baseball. On any given day or season, the best can be the worst or the worst can be the best. Guys have career years … maybe we’re seeing one out of MAT
  11. Respect for ALL needs to be adhered to. It’s not just about one another, it’s about everyone in and around the games, too. Frustrating times for sure, and we’ve given a lot of leeway on that. But commenting on players’ wives and suggesting players have no heart or desire … come on. Do better.
  12. We don't know, though, what input Rocco has, but I'd guess 99% of the roster decisions fall to the FO and Rocco is left with the hand he is dealt. Heck ... not sure why he'd want to extend his contract given that.
  13. I hear you ... I'm not in the TC area, either. When I moved to ChiTown, I needed to find me some Twins fans, so started posting on the old espn boards, I think, and then rolled with the group who formed BYTO, then rolled here when that site melded with this one. Many of us are from 'abroad' (meaning outside Twins territory.) You should talk to @Vanimal46. He recently repatriated himself to Minnesota from Texas.
  14. As I said, it all begins at the top, so we agree on that. It took a loooooong time before Terry Ryan was let go. I mean, we had some fun teams to watch that almost were but never were when they could have been with just a little bit more. One of the reasons Hunter and Santana left. Not sure where Joe Pohlad stands on that. As I've always said many a time on these pages, hope for the best, prepare for the worst. I temper my expectations and just divest any emotional energy from it if the product isn't to my liking, as that is the only thing I have control over. When it comes to sports, I get excited and cheer on the good things, and say 'meh' and walk away from the bad things. I just can't expend the energy on something that is just a game. And I lack the understanding and empathy for those who seem to live and die by these games. It's how I can be critical and shrug my shoulders without having to rant about every little thing as some do. But, to each their own. It's how I roll. :)
  15. I think people are making way too big a deal of this extension. It doesn't mean he sticks as manager until the end of his contract. Managers get fired all the time, in the middle of their contracts. This is making a mountain out of a molehill, which I understand because we're all frustrated as heck about the current situation. But honestly, I don't even think Rocco is the problem. All of this starts at the top. It was the same when people were calling for Gardy to be axed well before he was. It always starts at the top, imo. So until there is a change at the top, this is what it is. And if Rocco goes, it will still be the same old stuff because, as I said, change starts at the top.
  16. If you were giving 110%, you would have gotten the recyclables out in the first place. Just sayin'. And not sure what I'm saying, other than ... I don't agree with your analogy, but I do agree with the spirit of it. 🙂
  17. Bench him? I want him DFA’d at this point. That is THE ONE and only move that is absolutely necessary from every angle. It would send a message to players, to on-field staff, to the fans. He should have already been gone. I was willing to see how he’d do at the beginning of the season, not that I wanted him, but willing to let it play out. It has. That one move is it. If the FO can’t pull it off, well, then Pohlad needs to replace Falvey. These things start at the top.
  18. Gallo does. When he’s not on the IL. But then we have his occasional feast but mostly famine bat. But when we DFA Kepler when Gallo returns, he’s the defensive replacement. And I’d rather have his bat, which isn’t saying much
  19. But no, it doesn't. One guy gets on base and no one can get him home? What's the score? Sorry, we need more than one guy. I get the frustration and being upset over losing Arraez, but, that truly is not the answer, imho. The approach to hitting is off ... that's the fix, not one player we traded.
  20. Arraez alone doesn’t do it, though. He didn’t last year, he wouldn’t have this year. One player isn’t the answer.
  21. I think the reason it was Garlick over Wallner was that the Larnach activation was imminent and they didn't want to burn another recall for Wallner for a couple of days because there is a limit on that per season. Anyway ... back to Kepler ... you can continue talking Larnach/Wallner, etc in the Roster Crunch thread
  22. This is as good a spot to post this, although Paddock isn't on a rehab assignment ... but will we see him this year?
