  1. Yes. And not turning away refugees.
  2. Apparently
  3. Why are you asking me? You don't know how to Google or something? http://www.wisegeek.org/what-is-bisque.htm
  4. I'm hungry now. Time for lunch. Hmm ... maybe I'll have soup!
  5. Okay ... soup question ... are stews and chilis part of a broader, more generic soup category?
  6. On a hot summer day ... I don't mind ... depending on the soup. A nice, chilled cucumber soup is really quite good. To get my dad to try a green smoothie, I served it in a bowl and told him it was a 'chilled soup.' He ate it AND liked it.
  7. You are correct. This is completely off topic. I get the sentiment, but this latter paragraph is better suited for a discussion in the 'Other Baseball' Forum. That said, please, everyone, let's not turn this thread into a PED thread. You can mention the peripherals, and this was a big one, but let's not get sidetracked from the topic at hand. Thanks.
  8. This is why I like Bernie Sanders ... not for president, though. While his politics are far different, he's not a 'party' man. Heck, he's been an independent for years, why some Democrats don't think it's right he's running for president as a Democrat, because he's never really aligned himself fully to the party. But he says and does what he thinks is right. Whether you agree with what he says (I happen to on much of it), you know he's telling you straight. Of all the debates, on both sides, the fact checkers have found very little 'wrong' in his answers vs everyone else.
  9. Ortiz is beloved in Boston. Maybe (hopefully) they don't make as big a deal about it when the BoSox play away games. But in Boston it'll be a big deal, and rightfully so, imo, despite any personal feelings. That said ... I don't like these 'going away' tours.
  10. Delusions.
  11. On the days that are lame, you just invent your own national food day ... or ... turn it around and make it 'anything but <whatever lame food day> day.' Er, or something like that.
  12. Heh ... Chicago boasts a large Greek/Greek-American population ... not too difficult to find quality baklava here. LOVE it!
  13. Why not just say you are a resident of the world and leave it at that. Greeting, Earthling!
  14. Because some of us aren't.
  15. Well, I think you're wrong! Heh. I know Paris isn't for everyone, but I never tire of it. New York I tire of, but Paris? Just not possible!
  16. I think we should also round up all the conservative Christians who believe in a 'final, apocalyptic battle' and find a place for them, too. Maybe they can share the space and kill each other. Yeah, that sounds like a plan!
  17. From one having been to Paris numerous times, I find this stereotype very overblown. I have had nothing but tremendous hospitality, even when I attempt to fumble with my very rudimentary French.
  18. I read an article yesterday or earlier today ... skimmed it actually ... by Rick Steves about going to Paris right now. Google search hasn't come up with anything, but I'll see if I can still find it.
  19. Thanks, Seth, for another great article! Keep them coming ... love this! Also, question ... might you do a few more video intros this coming ST/season like you did a few years ago?
  20. Here is a lengthy read ... but edifying. http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2015/03/what-isis-really-wants/384980/?utm_content=bufferb2c32&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
  21. Yes we can. But that's okay. He's welcome aboard anyway!
  22. There is never a good answer to that question. I know you know that, but just saying.
  23. As someone who has been to Paris many times, mostly for work giving concerts, hearing that a concert hall was the scene of the largest body count was especially emotional for me.
  24. So sad. Hope killing.
