  1. Was Recker moved off the 40-man? I didn't think he was. I thought he was just assigned to the minors? So definitely room to move up a couple players.
  2. If you want to talk specifically of the Kintzler trade, here's the thread on it: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/26987-article-twins-trade-kintzler-to-nationals/ You can still talk deadline news here. Not closing this for that.
  3. I thought they added something a day or two ago? And the Brewers, they added something, too, didn't they?
  4. Cleveland and KC are middle of the country. I don't think they're waving white flags.
  5. In the scenario he is traded, the topic of this thread, that's why I wouldn't call up another MI to take the 25-man spot if Dozier is traded as we have Polanco, Adrianza and Esco who can all fill out those two positions and occasional spot starts at 3rd, and bring up a bat to hopefully counter the loss of Dozier's bat.
  6. A reminder to everyone ... this thread isn't about trading Dozier, if we should or shouldn't, and for what ... it's about what you would do next if he does get traded.
  7. Diamondbacks, maybe. But it's not going to be at the price we'd want. But this thread isn't about that. It's about what's next if he's traded not about will he or won't he and for what.
  8. I think he is, too ... but not convinced he's a starter, either ... in other words, somewhere in between. If Dozier is dealt before the end of the season, as I said above, I'd move Polanco to 2nd, Adrianza to SS and Esco the utility ... but I'd still see him get quite a bit of time between 2nd, 3rd, and SS, perhaps more than a typical utility.
  9. I don't know if Dozier will be traded or not, which is different from if I think he should. But if he's traded tomorrow, for the remainder of this season, I would move Polanco to 2nd, Adrianza SS, and Esco as utility. Don't know who I'd call up to fill the 25-man roster spot but probably not a middle infielder. September call ups might see one or two of those you've mentioned. If Dozier is traded in the off-season, i don't know. It would depend on who else is around. Not sure Gordon is ready to start next season, at least not at the beginning of the season. If we keep Dozier into next season, I'm not sure what becomes of Polanco but I'm not convinced he goes into next season as our starting SS.
  10. Yeah, didn't think you meant that, but then I'm not a mind reader, hence the question of clarification.
  11. Um, long for which world? Professional baseball world? Twins world? Or the world as this planet?
  12. I said this in the Breslow DFA thread, but I wonder if he'll go to med school? He mentioned that once as a possibility post-baseball, but think he meant that if his career ended sooner than it did.
  13. As you should be. But only BEHIND Chief.
  14. Dvorak Carnival Overture; Dvorak Symphony 8; then a bunch of movie themed pieces for solo violin and orchestra
  15. Since it's Saturday night and Van is no doubt out on a date, I'll post the lineups ... since I'm not on a date but at work: TWINS Brian Dozier 2B Max Kepler RF Miguel Sano 3B Joe Mauer 1B Eduardo Escobar SS Eddie Rosario LF Robbie Grossman DH Zack Granite CF Jason Castro C Adalberto Mejia P ATHLETICS Rajai Davis RF Marcus Semien SS Ryon Healy DH Khris Davis LF Jed Lowrie 2B Yonder Alonso 1B Matt Chapman 3B Ryan Lavarnway C Jaycob Brugman CF Chris Smith P
  16. This deserved a hearty LOL and not just a like. Heh. And people are staring since I appear to just be laughing for no apparent reason. Okay, now they are quickly walking away from me in the opposite direction. Note to self: maybe don't read TD out in public as you never know what's going to get said.
  17. Van's the Man with today's game thread. Check it out! http://twinsdaily.com/topic/26958-game-thread-minnesota-twins-oakland-as-7-29-910-pm-ct/
  18. Yup. Exactly, which is why there is a big 'Rumor' heading up the title of the thread, which is what it is unless sources and content is verified. That said, there's no reason we can't speculate, throw out hypotheticals, dream or be practical in trade talk. That's really all this thread is. It gives us something to ponder when asked 'Is this enough for so and so?' 'Do you pull the trigger on that?' 'Is this really what we need?' 'What would it really take?' These are all just opinions and ideas.
  19. I am not going to last for much longer. While I am most definitely not a morning person, I'm playing tennis tomorrow morning.
  20. That could trigger a migraine.
  21. I think the late games have a lot to do with it. I also think it's just 'that point' in the season where steam is running low. And possibly some are just defeated because, yeah, well, it is what it is. And we tried dual (as opposed to duel) game threads once ... one that was strictly game oriented and another that was everything else. It didn't really work well. This is why I object when some insist that game threads are 'off topic' when posters talk about the game as if game talk is forbidden. It's definitely a looser atmosphere where lots of other things get talked about during the game, but game talk should never get lost, imo. Unless we are trying to drown our sorrows and want to forget about the game at hand. However, game threads are there to have fun. Excessive crabbing about everything may get an 'Enough already! We get it!' because that is not fun for most.
  22. Great ... tell us all the things you did drunk that you regretted the next day!
