  1. Hawk doesn't do home games. And I think this is his last season doing away games.
  2. It's like they were lies or is it that they were lies?
  3. This, absolutely. Big reason he’s one of my favorites. Attitude isn’t everything, but it’s a big thing, imo.
  4. I don’t have objections he wasn’t called up to the Twins. I do wonder why he wasn’t moved up to AAA to take Petit’s place instead of Sean Miller, even if for only a week.
  5. Esco has been one of my favorite players since the Twins got him from the White Sox. On the field he’s not a star but he’s solid wherever you put him. At the plate he seems to keep improving. And the guy himself, he seems to work hard but manages to also keep the atmosphere light. He’s not an all-star player, but he does his job well. Attaway, Esco!
  6. My answer was in response to Sean Miller being promoted to AAA and not Gordon. I get the not wanting him up to the big club yet, but why not to AAA?
  7. Okay, why? Is Sean Miller doing better than Gordon? I don't get some of these decisions. It's not like I know better ... because I really, truly don't ... but wouldn't it make sense to push Gordon just a little, even if he has to go back in 10 days? Or do they want him moving up only when it's a permanent move? Seems to me he's not getting opportunity here. And I could just be crabby about the whole state of things and that clouds my judgement.
  8. I really don't get the thinking behind the Rule 5 picks. It just seems so wasteful. If you are going to keep a roster space for someone and think they have some value, just make a deal. Why don't teams just do that? Maybe I'm being simplistic and really don't understand how these things work, and at least this didn't go on for longer (but is that really an optimistic take?), but I just don't get it. Will Gordon move up to Rochester? Or is this move so short lived they don't want to do that yet?
  9. Yeah, no ... that's no fun. It's a good way to get a seat to yourself with no one scrunched up next to you.
  10. Well ... I have to have some talks serious talks with myself about games this weekend in Chicago ... do I go or not, and if I do, how often? Maybe they'll sweep the Jays and get on a roll ...
  11. Yeah, it makes me almost want to watch.
  12. All I can say is 'Ugh!' I really can't watch this anymore.
  13. Back on track, folks. This thread is about posting national media links on Twins prospects. The tangent on the Twins rebuild has gone far enough here. Start your own thread in the Twins Talk forum if you want to take it further. Thanks.
  14. Oh, my mistake. I got this confused thinking that happened before and they now realized it was broken. Forget everything I said before then. Still, a broken toe may not be diagnosed immediately and may not show up in X-rays. And hurts. Ash’s explanation then makes much more sense. But putting pressure on it while running may take a bit.
  15. And maybe they did all they could at the time and it was just one of those things that only time could tell. Guys foul off balls all the time. It hurts. X-rays don’t always show anything for something that small (if they even did one.) You apply ice. But then you have a worse pain and your body forgets the toe. The migraines go away, the toe looks better, but then you put pressure on your foot, ow, that hurt. Hmmm, forgot about the toe for a bit because of the migraines, maybe it’s broken and not just bruised. That seems like plausible explanation if that’s how it happened. Whether or not it should have taken that long to diagnose a broken toe, I don’t know. I just hope Bux is back soon and gets it going and has no more DL stints and the Twins go on a winning rampage .... Am I thinking too much? It’s easy to do.
  16. This is just my guess. He went on the DL due to migraines, yes? They probably didn’t give the toe a second thought, thinking it was just bruised, until he was still experiencing discomfort once he was cleared to play after the migraines went away. At that point they determined the hit to the toe was more than a bruise. But I don’t really know.
  17. Uh oh. I hate creepy but can’t resist them either.
  18. Further, they don’t always need an X-ray to diagnose a broken toe, but depending on the severity and if it’s not the big toe, they may not diagnose it right away. I broke my second toe last December and couldn’t walk without discomfort for about a week. I got back on the tennis court the second week with the toe fully taped and was happy to not be playing on a hard court surface and made due even though I still couldn’t run full out. But still, I understand the frustration with Buxton. It always seems to be something. I’m not questioning the legitimacy of this at all, I’m just frustrated he’s hampered by these things and I’d bet he is, too.
  19. I don't know if this show has ever been mentioned. It's not new but it's still current and season 4 will be released soon. Has anyone watched 'The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt'? Just started watching it ... love it! Am in the middle of season 2. Anyone else watching this, or have watched this awaiting for the next season to be available on Netflix? (It's a Netflix series.)
  20. That would make more sense from an actual performance aspect and it would be what I'd be looking at. Unless one thinks Hughes could do better as the mop up guy in the pen, I'm ready to part ways. And Rogers, Hildenberger and Duffy all need to be sent to Rochester ... but who do we have to come up for those three? We have starters we could be rotating in and out of the 5th spot, but who do we have as RP call up options?
  21. I actually think there was far worse to this game than that. Half the relief pitchers need to go ... who do we have to fill those spots? Oh, wait, we have Kinley. I forgot. Who else?
  22. We have quite a few pitchers right now that fit that 'hope will be his last appearance' category ... Hughes, Duffy, Hildenburger ... and who do we have to take their places?
  23. Yep. Yep. I have nothing more to say.
