  1. Thanks for updating the prospect summary list! Any thought on making that it’s own article, and doing one, all 1-40, say, twice or once a month? Doesn’t have to be a huge write up, just what you do here, but with their current line, maybe their last performance or where they were the previous month and one or two sentence blurb on their last month of play or a highlight or something?
  2. Geez, he could’ve done that on the first pitch, but nooooooo, he’s gotta let them all go by.
  3. If we had Realmuto, this just wouldn’t be an issue. No bus throwing, whether indirectly or not. So, let’s just get Realmuto.
  4. Knock it off. Save this crap for a loss. She says when she turned off the game in the 9th.
  5. Just got home from work .... what a thing to see before dreamland. I <3 Rosie.
  6. Any word on how long the delay will be?
  7. Then again, I’ve been some places I’d never go to on my own because of work.
  8. Yeah. People always think it’s a bad thing when I’m not scheduled to go on tour with the orchestra, thinking I’m missing out. The only think I’m missing out on is jet lag and work.
  9. In hindsight I think it was the beginning of the end.
  10. Yeah, but when are we going to see him behind the plate? Yes, I’m mocking you, sort of, in a friendly way.
  11. I’m sure I’ve been unfollowed/unfriended on FB for my more liberal stances and posts on various subjects by my pro-Trump, pro-white agenda friends. And while I have unfollowed very few I do hide the sources of their memes and fake news and ultra-right websites. It also drives me nuts to hear them spout such hateful rhetoric about refugees, immigrants, anyone non-White, poor and homeless, chronically ill and barely or un-insured, and then start screaming judgement on murdering abortionists because they are so self-righteously pro-life and I’m damned to hell because I don’t think the personal aspects of my body is the government’s business.
  12. I would guess that those who are avid/addicted Twitterheads would answer the above poll very differently. Most of us onsite here are onsite here because we aren’t Twitterers. (Trying to find the appropriate noun ... Tweeters?) I was on Twitter very early on, before it was quite ‘the thing’ at the urging of a friend of mine who told me to follow everyone. It drove me nuts the amount of useless stuff that enters your head in a very short period of time doing that. My follows now are strictly baseball related and a few work-related follows. But I still can’t keep up and I just find it too disorganized for how I like to learn/read/discover information. Also there’s just too much stuff tweeted by my follows that are not on subject and I’m back to receiving too much useless tidbits of information I don’t need and don’t want in my head. So I follow in spurts, usually when there is breaking news on the horizon. I guess it’s good you promote yourselves on various platforms to reach the broadest audience.
  13. I know exactly where Longville is ... I spent a couple of summers at a camp on Little Boy Lake.
  14. 1.) Where are you from? I grew up in Winona, MN; have lived in Northfield, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Ottawa, Canada and Chicago, in that order. Have been in Chicago for just over 18 yrs 2.) Age Range? 50s 3.) What brought you to Twins Daily? I was on BYTO when it merged into this site. 4.) Highest level of baseball/softball played? I played summer rec softball from the time I was 8-9 yrs old through college; I played periodically after that until about 5-6 yrs ago when I gave it up for good 5.) Favorite Twins Player, and favorite underappreciated Twins player, and if you want, favorite current Twins player? Favorite all-time Twin: Harmon Killebrew; Favorite under appreciated Twin: hmmm, I’ll have to think on that; Favorite current Twins: the two Eddie’s ... and they were my favorites before this season - just shows I know how to pick ‘em! 6.) Favorite non-Twins Daily site/authors? Don’t have one. 7.) Favorite Twitter follows? What’s Twitter? 8.) Other interests outside of baseball. Tennis, baking, music 9.) Favorite part of Twins Daily... forums, blogs, articles, topics... wahtever you like. Articles and minor league forum 10.) Tell us what we can do better. What features or other topics would you like to see in-season or out of season? 11.) Have you been to any of the Twins Daily "events?” yes
  15. The first ball I got was from 1986, late summer. I was a young 20-something at a game with my then boyfriend. Thanks to work, I got us tickets right over the Twins dugout. Bert Blyleven was pitching. I don’t remember what inning it was, who they were playing, or anything about the game, but Bert finished that inning with a strikeout. As he was leaving the mound to head to the dugout, the catcher threw the ball back to him and he walked off field. Just before he went into the dugout he looked up and tossed me the ball. Just as I was about to catch it, my then boyfriend jumped in front of me and took the ball. Nope, nuh uh, no way. That ball was mine. And yes, I still have it. That was almost unforgivable. The other one I got was at Spring Training a few years ago. I was watching batting practice on the full field directly behind Hammond Stadium when Tony Oliva walked by. After a brief exchange he asked me if I had good hands. I think I said sure, or I think so. He tossed a ball to me over the fence. When I looked at it it was signed. He does this ... tosses out balls here and there to fans. And yes, I still have that one, too.
  16. I would for some ... but not for this person.
  17. So, I have a few FB 'friends' who are pro-Trump and post pro-Trump garbage ad nauseum. (I usually hide the sources so I see less and less of those quick-share memes.) This one person in particular, who posts this stuff, and posts all this 'Pray for Trump' stuff as well, posts this petition on saving the bees, and how the EPA won't ban particularly bad pesticides that kill bees, or something (I didn't read it all), but I'm thinking ... okay ... does she know who leads the EPA and who put that person in charge of the EPA? I almost responded to her post to ask her ... do you know how ironic this is? But it would completely pass over her head ... or she'd come back with 'Trump has nothing to do with the EPA. It's all the Democrats doing.' I really hate this level of stupid.
  18. I enjoyed it ... but not as much as the other Marvel movies. I laughed at the Partridge Family Theme Song.
  19. Did you ask them their thoughts on why Molitor hasn’t played Astudillo behind the plate yet?
  20. I actually think the Twins’ need for a great catcher is greater than the pitching needs right now. I would do Kirilloff + Graterol for Realmuto with blinking a few times, but I’d do it. This is the trouble with trade discussions. We all want but when it comes time to give we all get too squeamish. You have to give to get, especially for a big piece that will be a difference maker.
