  1. I like the Red or the Navy Blue
  2. Thanks for doing the research I didn't
  3. Prospects are going to have moments of good and moments of bad when they are called up ... unless they are someone like Trout. Celestino had barely played above AA when he was called up because of all the injuries. Doubtful he would have gotten the call when he did otherwise. Not sure it's exactly fair to expect him to be 'knocking down the door' in that situation. However, since going back to AAA, he's been doing really well. Depending on what happens in the off season, he could very well start with the Twins next year, but, if not, he will definitely get his opportunities. I'd still put him in the outfield before Gordon, except for Gordon making spot starts out there.
  4. Welcome to TD!
  5. they don't in cribbage ... just sayin'
  6. Welcome to TD! Please, keep 'em coming ... be a lurker no more!
  7. I think that's a pretty low standard. I'd qualify it to say, if he's the best pitcher on your team, and would be the best pitcher on almost every team, over more than one season, he'd be an ace.
  8. Surprised no one posted this here: Wtg, Eddie! ❤️
  9. Ahh ... I misread your initial post ... Hmmm ... but not sure it's chemistry. I mean, they are playing pretty well now ... too little, too late ... but is that turnaround chemistry, too?
  10. I'd say Santana was the last ace.
  11. Wow, okay ... that is such an apt comparison. A solid pitcher, a good pitcher, one you want to pitch, one you want on your team, but maybe not the best pitcher in your rotation (on a good team), but still one who gives your team a chance to win. Santana was a true no. 1 ... Berrios a no. 2. I don't know about 'ace', but I guess if I call anyone that, it's a shut down pitcher, like Santana. That isn't Berrios. Doesn't mean you don't want Berrios in the rotation. Doesn't mean Berrios won't become that, but at this point, I think he is what he's always been, a solid, good pitcher ... nothing more, nothing less. But not great.
  12. So PROFESSIONAL players, who actually play the game, are not accountable at all? They should still be better and play better in spite of coaching/managing. Seriously ... I really think that's way off
  13. And I've had enough of this game ...
  14. That certainly is an endearing name you have for Cuddyer
  15. Oh, you and me both. I hated the how and why that Santana was traded ... that was just bad. I'm hoping the FO sign Buxton. I mean ... that would be as bad as losing Santana. They are of the same calibre, imo.
  16. He has more at stake and more to prove with the Jays. But he's always been the player who has always bet against himself.
  17. I think you give way too much credit to Berrios. There were a lot 'ifs' in proclaiming him 'ace to be'. José is what he is ... a solid pitcher, but not an ace, not a No. 1. (Well, a no. 1 on a bad team, but over all a solid no. 2 pitcher on a good team.) I mean ... 'if not for his starts giving up 10 runs' ... lol Hmmm ... favorite player who left ... once they leave they are dead to me. Okay, not really. I kept tabs a bit on Greg Gagne when he left. Morneau when he left - it nearly killed me when he signed with the White Sox, but that didn't last long. Hated to see his career go the way it did due to the concussions. I was hoping Pittsburgh would go further into the playoffs that year, and glad he found a little of himself again in Colorado. And Escobar and Rosario. Esco is just a treasure wherever he goes. And as much as I love Rosario, I really haven't followed too much about what he's doing. He is who he is and I loved him on the team and just don't want to think about him elsewhere.
  18. True. But I'd have liked to see what the trade deadline would have looked like had we been winning, so it really does go back to the beginning for me. The FO and players themselves put us in this position. As I said above, they bear the most responsibility here. And if we'd been winning from the start, those two would bear the most kudos.
  19. I'd be curious to see if people judge it roughly the same or wildly different
  20. I think Brock's pie chart is about right. The lion's share should be the FO and the players themselves, with injuries and the coaches/manager rounding it out. imho. Thanks. Didn't we already have a thread assigning percentage blame?
  21. Sending good thoughts for continued healing! (Sorry the Twins didn't help with that today!)
  22. But however it works, getting time for Miranda at 3rd I think means Arraez is traded
  23. At some point I think is more realistic ... but ... if he is up next year and doesn't work? Then what? I see Donaldson still on our team next year, starting at 3rd, and then we'll see
  24. I don't think Miranda will start the year with the Twins ... he has had no time in the majors yet, and as we all know, no matter how great a minor leaguer seems to us, that transition doesn't always work. I'd rather have Donaldson as our starter at 3rd ... and bring up Miranda when needed ... or he's up as the backup. If he's doing well in the majors, yes, then I see them transition over ... but not to start the season. The person to trade is Arraez ... and maybe Kepler. I also think everyone is way overestimating what they think we will get for Donaldson if we traded him
  25. Donaldson ... what can I say ... I wanted him back when he was with Oakland and was so mad the Twins didn't trade for him when he went to the Blue Jays. All this 'trade him' talk is nonsense, imo. He is not the one to trade.
