  1. Well, the OP sounds like they want to know whether or not to watch the Twins. I guess I’d say don’t watch but follow the news and when someone returns then watch again. <shrug>
  2. What do you expect the team to say? I’m sure everyone is hoping Correa will be back. Buxton is close, supposedly. Ryan is out for the season, that has already been reported. No one can give an exact return date for any injury. We fans want more details but we aren’t owed exact details on anyone’s personal health.
  3. And you are a prime example of what we don’t want at this site. And it has nothing to do with positive or negative posting …
  4. No, it’s not a message board, it’s a privately-owned website with a posting policy. Venting is one thing. Disrespect is another. And we all care about the Twins. Just because some do it louder doesn’t mean they care more.
  5. I don’t think anyone who takes time to post at a site dedicated to Twins baseball is any less passionate or any less a fan than either of you. And I am pretty certain no one here likes losing. But I do question the levels of rabidity in game threads that border on or are over the line of disrespect. No one playing this game or coaching it or managing it lack heart or feel for the game. Very few people get to where they do and it takes a lot of dedication, work and heart for the game. Seems to me a lot of accusations take place questioning players’ dedication because they don’t respond to losing just like you do. When someone in this thread said Rocco doesn’t stand up to the umps, another poster showed that yes, actually he does. But there is no capitulation because of how some feel about him as a manager. I do, however, find the posts that suggest we’ve already lost the game in the first innings of play a bit over the top. By my calculations it was a close game, but already there were claims of loss and season loss. If you post the doom and gloom frustrations, my equal is to roll my eyes at you. What you call passion, I term irrational emotional reaction. You fan your way, I fan mine.
  6. Serious question … then why do you spend so much time watching and posting here? I mean … seriously, why? I can always find better things to do, and have. Almost done with major home improvement project three … that’s how I’ve spent quite a bit of my summer
  7. He foolishly agreed to do it when asked
  8. How’s this different than every game thread?
  9. Let’s take the series … go Zebby, go Twins!
  10. Hey, bases loaded and a run scores!
  11. Is that referencing how bad the radio team is?
  12. If players don’t know how to play the game by the time they reach the show, then that is on the development staff. At this level, they will never catch up with just pregame warmups. I’m not saying they can’t be coached, but learning and instruction should have happened by now. We don’t know what happens off the field, so I’m not ready to point fingers at specific people. You and I are just not going to see it the same way, except when it comes to Correa, which is fine … the way of the world. It’d be a pretty boring place if we all agreed about everything.
  13. Yes, we need Correa and Buxton. The bottom line for me is the players have to execute when called upon. Period. I question Okert being on the team at all at this point. That isn’t on Rocco. But you can’t use the same three people people every night. I’ve seen it on these boards before. He goes for Sands instead of Okert and Sands blows it, it’s Rocco’s fault for going with Sands. I think it’s an illogical pov at this point driven by an already and justified dislike. It’s a team sport. You hope that everyone comes together all at the same time for win after win. That’s never gonna happen. I want to win it all as much as the next person, but I’ve also learned to manage my expectations. And I still don’t think Rocco has cost the team that many losses. I think the players have more. It is them who plays the game. And I think the FO has more for lack of a better payroll.
  14. Thats not the right question, imo … it’s why is even even on the team. He should’ve been dealt with long ago. Thank you FO.
  15. I actually did a search on the word ‘hater’ … no one has called you that or labeled you that. That label is on you trying to defend your opinions. As for being called a bot, that was dealt with by another moderator, and yes, name calling isn’t allowed. What so many here fail to realize is their opinions aren’t the law, they aren’t more right than someone else’s, no matter how strongly you feel about them. People are allowed to dislike Rocco and to be critical of him, others are allowed to disagree. But when many game threads digress into everything is Rocco’s fault, well, you are going to get disagreement. It’s not as easy as that, imho. Players have to execute. A manager has to have good players to turn to. I have been critical of the FO before in their construction of the BP. I’ve gone so far as to say it might even be more important to have ‘lights out, shut’em down’ relievers than it is to have one ace starter. Does the manager affect the outcome? Sure. Personally, I don’t think it’s as often as you and some others claim. The responsibility lies mostly with the players to execute. We’ve heard many player interviews say they know what their roles are going to be each game, so, do it. But if you don’t have the players to do it, that’s on the FO. My biggest gripe with the manager is he has a script and he follows it. If he didn’t, we’d have someone who would. And many wouldn’t like that manager any better. But stop playing victim here. You aren’t one. You share your opinions, some I agree with, some I don’t. Some others agree with, some others don’t. All we ask of posters on this site is to be respectful of one another and those on the field. You don’t have to like anyone, you can be critical all you want, disagree with others all you want, but you have proven to be smart enough to form good points and rebuttals, so don’t resort to easy labels of others or yourself. And that goes for everyone. Losing sucks. And I agree the Twins need to win more games that are winnable. But I don’t think that’s on the manager as much as you do. Players have to execute. And if they aren’t up to the task, the FO needs to find those who are. And yes, the manager has to manage that. It’s a team sport. It’s on everyone. i didn’t see the game last night, was following, loosely, on gameday because I was mostly otherwise occupied. I saw the score when it was 5-3 Twins. Great. We’re doing something right against a team I think is better. Then I saw the final and saw 4 runs in Okert’s line. Ugh. Of course it’s Okert. I wish they had sent him down long ago … I think he has an option left? But now, ugh, just DFA already is my opinion. Move Varland to the pen already. I don’t know what else at this point.
  16. Disappointing loss to say the least. Lots of blame to go around. Lots to dislike in the events of the day. But name calling, bickering, dismissive behavior, disrespect are not answers to that. We have opinions. Like or dislike the manager, fine. Disagree all you want, fine. But bring your A-game to the table. Stop calling each other haters and apologists as a means to justify your arguments or discredit another’s.
  17. Twins pitcher is listed as tbd, but we know it’s going to be Zebby! Here’s to a great debut!🥂
  18. It’s not a must win, because we won’t be eliminated if we don’t and I think it’s hyperbolic to say ‘must.’ But I do think we need to win it because I think we do.
  19. There was warming up going on in the outfield while this was happening. I don’t think that’s rude. I think everyone on that field that was part of the ceremony understands and expects this because they were all there once upon a time
