  1. Congrats on a long career Bert and best of luck in full retirement!
  2. Does anyone know when Pineda comes back? The Twins have now played 30 games, so he has to be getting close. Has he been able to pitch with the rest of the minor league team?
  3. You might actually want to look into the facts before you sound off on all sports.
  4. If Buxton doesn't already have a nickname it should be Charmin.
  5. What bugs me most about Buxton not being able to stay on the field is his lack of awareness of when to go full throttle and when not to. If I remember correctly the game he got injured in last season against Miami, the Twins were 7 - 0 and it was late in the game. There was no need for him to run full speed into the wall to try and catch that ball. Let it hit the wall and play it off the bounce.
  6. The only way I can see this happening is if they schedule doubleheaders. Since this is the beginning of the season they could find dates later on in the season and have teams play multiple doubleheaders in a series.
  7. This is the correct thing to do, but man, does this just feel like the typical thing to happen to MN sports. Twins finally have a projected top 5 team in the MLB and a ****ing worldwide pandemic happens that is going to screw up the flow of the season.
  8. He also started the season with an oblique injury that probably had something to do with his poor numbers.
  9. Hopefully they continue to play him both in the OF and 1B this season. Teams never make it through the season without injuries and the more flexibility he has the better chance he'll have at playing for the Twins. He's 22 now so him not on the 40 man shouldn't matter. If he's clearly the best player down in the minors he needs to be the call up if it's a long term injury. Hopefully he starts at AAA this season.
  10. Let's not be giving LEN3 more credit than he deserves... He's a terrible writer and the next story he breaks will be his first.
  11. I like upgrading the rotation but I would have liked to see the Twins get more for Graterol than Maeda...
  12. Very exciting to see players in the 16-20 range with upside and that have played in AA already. These guys should be pushing into AAA and potential call up range by seasons end.
  13. It was an attempt at humor based on Justin winning the homerun derby and the announcer calling him Jason.
  14. How disappointing.... There was so much promise going into the offseason coming off a season with 101 wins and roughly $70 million to spend on impact players. Instead we get a bunch of aging rejects that wouldn't sniff the post season on any team that is legit about contending for the World Series. Please don't @ me with Bailey could still be solid or Hill has been very good. He's 39 and coming off a significant injury and won't potentially start until mid way through the season. I don't believe for a second Avila is better than Castro either. I'll give them Clippard as a solid add to the bullpen but the rest....yuck.
  15. Trading for Trevor Story makes me very nervous based on his home and away splits.
  16. I'd pass. Boston also only has 1 prospect in the top 100 they could add to sweeten the deal.... No reason to alleviate them of their problem unless they're going to add at least a good prospect to the deal.
  17. It would be nice to know who the "other" teams that contacted the Twins are.
  18. Why would the Twins want either Caleb Smith or Jose Urena? Smith is already 28 has a career FIP of 4.79 with a ERA+ of 89 and Urena has a career FIP of 4.69 with an ERA+ of 86. Plus his SO/9 is only 6.1. Yuck.
  19. Meh... He fills a need, is cheap and is only signed for one year but not excited about him.
  20. Great! Now if they can sign Madbum this is looking like a solid rotation.
  21. No on Rosario as the Twins have prospects who can replace him that should be ready within two years. No on Rogers as he's a relief pitcher and has 4 more years of control. Maybe after next season if he's lights out again. Buxton is a ? to me. How do you even get an appropriate value for him with how much time he's missed. I'd probably wait until next offseason as he also has 4 more years of team control. I'd look to get something done for Sano. Can MLB contracts be incentive based? If so I'd want to put in extra incentives that will motivate him. Berrios is a no doubter in my mind. He seems like a great teammate and is very hardworking. I'd look to lock him up as long as possible.
