  1. Hopefully he doesn't quit on the Twins like he did the Angels last year once their chance of reaching the playoffs was basically zero.
  2. How did the top relief pitchers from 2016, 2017 and 2019 do? Just because there was 1 season where the top relief pitchers signed didn't do well doesn't mean you shouldn't try to bolster the bullpen. I'm not saying the Twins should sign any of these relief pitchers to long term deals and I doubt any of them will get deals longer than 3 years. But going into next year hoping Rogers rebounds and then just bringing up a bunch of young guys it's likely to be a recipe for success.
  3. The Falvine offseason bullpen signings could be described in two words...dumpster diving.... It'd be nice to see the Twins sign one of the top 5-6 relievers listed above.
  4. Let's not spare $7.5M and sign some players who are actually good. There is no reason to go into the season that far below a budget. The Twins are in the contending years, so lets not waste it on signing players like Robbie Ray and Jonathan Schoop. Additionally, the Twins bullpen needs at least one major upgrade as you can't rely on a Rogers turnaround.
  5. Supposedly Cleveland isn't picking up Brad Hand's $10M option. I'd love to see the Twins go after him.
  6. I really didn't want the Dodgers to win, but I was so happy the "analytical" move blew up in the Rays face. There was absolutely zero reason to take Snell out of the game at that point. He was cruising at 73 pitches with 9 strikeouts and only 2 hits. The next three batters due up were 0-6 with 6 strikeouts. Mookie Betts numbers against right handers pitchers was SIGNIFICANTLY better than it was against lefties. Additionally, Nick Anderson had a brutal postseason having given up at least 1 run in 6 straight games entering play last night. Overall it was a terrible decision by Kevin Cash and one that deserves a better explanation than, "I didn't want Snell to pitch against those guys a third time."
  7. Letting Rosario and Romo go is the right move as the Twins have players who can fill in those roles. I'd be fine with the Twins bringing back Cruz on a one year deal or a two year deal if the second one is based on plate appearances. If he wants two full years then I think the Twins have to move on. If it's true Bauer wants to bet on himself by signing 1 year deals going forward then why not go after him? A starting rotation of Bauer, Maeda, Berrios, Pineda and whoever is as good of a starting rotation as the Twins have ever had. The Twins need to find a more consistent bench than what they had this season and it would be nice if whoever they go after has more speed. The Twins are currently one of the slowest teams in the MLB. It be nice to bring someone off the bench late in a game that could steal a base. Does Blankenhorn and Gordon fill those roles?
  8. I don't understand why Avila is on the roster. There is zero reason to carry 4 catchers for a 3 game series even if Tortuga is mainly going to be used at other positions. Both Garver and Jeffers are solid behind the plate and infinitely better than Avila batting. Alcala deserves to be on the playoff roster.
  9. There is reason to leave him off. Then Rocco can't make a stupid decision to use him once again in a key situation like he did last night.
  10. Can we leave Rogers off the playoff list? He doesn't deserve to be there. Put Hill and Thielbar as the left handers out of the bullpen.
  11. Why does Rocco keep pitching Rogers in high leverage situations? A few of the Detroit players are switch hitters and per Dick during the telecast are better from the right side. I'm starting to get very frustrated with Rocco and his poor bullpen decisions.
  12. Congrats on a long career Bert and best of luck in full retirement!
  13. Does anyone know when Pineda comes back? The Twins have now played 30 games, so he has to be getting close. Has he been able to pitch with the rest of the minor league team?
  14. You might actually want to look into the facts before you sound off on all sports.
  15. If Buxton doesn't already have a nickname it should be Charmin.
  16. What bugs me most about Buxton not being able to stay on the field is his lack of awareness of when to go full throttle and when not to. If I remember correctly the game he got injured in last season against Miami, the Twins were 7 - 0 and it was late in the game. There was no need for him to run full speed into the wall to try and catch that ball. Let it hit the wall and play it off the bounce.
  17. The only way I can see this happening is if they schedule doubleheaders. Since this is the beginning of the season they could find dates later on in the season and have teams play multiple doubleheaders in a series.
  18. This is the correct thing to do, but man, does this just feel like the typical thing to happen to MN sports. Twins finally have a projected top 5 team in the MLB and a ****ing worldwide pandemic happens that is going to screw up the flow of the season.
  19. He also started the season with an oblique injury that probably had something to do with his poor numbers.
  20. Hopefully they continue to play him both in the OF and 1B this season. Teams never make it through the season without injuries and the more flexibility he has the better chance he'll have at playing for the Twins. He's 22 now so him not on the 40 man shouldn't matter. If he's clearly the best player down in the minors he needs to be the call up if it's a long term injury. Hopefully he starts at AAA this season.
  21. Let's not be giving LEN3 more credit than he deserves... He's a terrible writer and the next story he breaks will be his first.
  22. I like upgrading the rotation but I would have liked to see the Twins get more for Graterol than Maeda...
  23. Very exciting to see players in the 16-20 range with upside and that have played in AA already. These guys should be pushing into AAA and potential call up range by seasons end.
  24. It was an attempt at humor based on Justin winning the homerun derby and the announcer calling him Jason.
