  1. Maybe we can talk a HOF pitcher into leading us. Maddux or Pedro anyone? Randy Johnson?
  2. Either Denny Hocking or Michael Cuddyer. Do it.
  3. I agree with those of you who are valuing quality bats AND flexibility. I would love to sign Marwin Gonzalez and Eddie Escobar. I also hope we get in on the Patrick Corbin bidding war. Definitely a crazy year for free agents!
  4. Is it sad that it is more fun to read these reports for five minutes than to watch the Twins full game? Go farm clubs!
  5. When Jay was selected I really wanted Benintendi. Maybe the FO doesn't want to make that same mistake. I'm sure if they liked a college arm enough, they would have gone in that direction. Benintendi won golden spikes, Larnach has a chance to do the same.
  6. Weird trade. My initial thought was that I would very much rather have the pick than the money, but I will give the FO the benefit of the doubt that there is in fact another move to follow. Maybe a trade for a catcher is imminent. I think if we landed Realmuto or Ramos it would make much more sense. I want to like Garver...but he is appearing very much so to be a back up. On a side note, now is a good time to extend as many of our young guys as possible.
  7. I'd be shocked if he pitches again, but I hope I'm wrong. Seems like he did everything in his power to make a comeback. However, I could see Phil as a pitching coach. Seems to be very passionate about the game and very personable. He had great stuff in his first years and had to "learn how to pitch" in the last few years, so he might be able to relate to majority of pitchers.
  8. We have so many young pitchers who are with us now or who are about to be with us in the very near future. Does Garver's (average to just above average?) bat provide more value to us than a veteran catcher who can help groom these young pitchers? Do you guys trust Garver with all of these young pitchers?
  9. I've got it! If the game is tied after nine innings, each team chooses one player to participate in one round of a home-run derby. They can list an "extra innings loss" just like hockey does to help with tie-breakers at the end of the year.
  10. Back in the day I used to order a double cheeseburger and ask for the big mac sauce (this was when they were a buck). This is the way to go, but not sure if they will still do it. This has been your fast-food loophole-tip-of-the-day.
  11. I wouldn't say it's a bad show, but it is my least favorite show on the network. They can do a lot better.
  12. Man he is fun to watch. Throwing whiffle balls! If he has good command on a regular basis, he is definitely a front of the rotation guy.
  13. This is a stretch. But here it goes. A (Gross)man walks down the street He says why am I soft in the middle now Why am I soft in the middle The rest of my life is so hard Black hole (Morri)sun Won't you come And wash away the rain Jason hittin' like he's wearin a Castro. sorry. long day.
  14. I'll make sure to take extra shots of whiskey with my cheese and apps when Hughes is pitching.
  15. This is what I was going to mention. What is the point of playing extra innings for these guys? You want to keep them healthy, and being in a demanding, grinding schedule doesn't mix well with 15 inning games. Also, what happens if they run of out pitchers or overextend someone in extras? The rule makes sense...as long as it stays in the minors.
  16. I don't think he ends up on the Yankees either, but I think they will still be in the running since they like their vets...and I can also see them trading some of those prospects for a starting pitcher. I'm guessing he signs with Dodgers, Angels or Mets.
  17. When I first saw "CHATTANOOGA CHATTER," I thought they had changed their team name. Great report-thanks! Sorry if I missed it, but what was Hughes' velocity?
  18. I know this question wasn't geared for me, so my apologies. I would say the usual suspects-both LA teams, both NY teams, and Boston. Whoever loses out on Harper and Machado will want to add some pop elsewhere. Red Sox have Pedroia, but he is running on fumes and Hanley's contract is off the books after this year.
  19. So if our minor league talent isn't ready (and if our young guys don't progress), you think the Twins offer him 90 million+? Or you don't think he will make that much anywhere?
  20. Over/Under for total number of hits 7-9 will get today: 3.5 I'm going with the over!
  21. I really do not see him signing a contract for less than 90-100 mil (let's be real-he's earned it). I do not see us paying him that much. It is as simple as that. I would love to have him back, but he is really going to have to buy into this club and give a hometown discount if he is going to remain a Twin. I'm guessing someone ponies up and offers him 5 and 100 or 110.
  22. Isn't this true for this year's entire FA class? 3.38 ERA in nearly 1000 inn...he wanted to come here. Who knows how he will pitch this year, but this was a REALLY good signing. Some of you guys are tough!
  23. Now go sign Cobb to a one year deal to take the 5th spot!
