  1. It's tempting. Fangraphs has him projected at basically replacement level - they project 99 wRC+ and 1.0 WAR for 2019. He is willing to switch positions. Per Susan Slusser, "...Could be a real possibility for A’s at 2B at a mere $600,000." Maybe he can bounce back in 2019?
  2. Nice spin on the stats. It is heartwarming on a cold December night to know that Schoop has the potential to torture the AL Central.
  3. The frustrating part to me (as a fan) is that the Brewers rebuilt so much quicker - with less baseline talent. So yes, it is possible. The Brewers of all teams. The never won anything Wisconsin Brewers. The Twins really need to get things figured out quickly or Target Field could be a ghost town by 2020-2021.
  4. Kohl deserves a chance, depending on whether the Twins sign any starters in free agency.
  5. In Falvine I trust.
  6. I'd pass on Santana. However, this was a breath of fresh air to this old schooler who has embraced the new world yet cannot stand that strikeouts are seen as acceptable and the rate at which they are happening: "Strikeouts are bearable, but only to a certain point. Consider this: Tyler Austin 36.6 K% Miguel Sano 36.3 K% Byron Buxton 31.7 K% You just can't have an everyday lineup that includes all three of those guys." Thank you for this insight.
  7. Why punt on 2019? There is plenty of cap space, existing talent, and unfulfilled (so far) potential talent for this team to make a run in 2019. Did you see what the 2018 Brewers did? The players and fans deserve 100 percent effort to win the World Series in 2019.
  8. Robbie fan here, high OBP guys are my guys. Do DRS and UZR give negative bonus points for ugly plays? Robbie had some real colossal miscues in 2016 and it feels like he was dinged for how ugly they were.
  9. Wow, Daniel's knowledge and enthusiasm really impress. Bubba Watson, one of my favorite golfers, is a lefty and a strong Christian so I am happy to hear he is a part owner. Their stadium and location sound amazing. The Twins apparently picked up a winner of a minor league affiliate.
  10. This is it. The reason I am ok with the new manager, coaching staff, Mauer retiring, and Falvine finally getting "their system" and "their guys" in place. My frustration as a fan is at an all time high - I will one up the "what are we rebuilding from" question and top it that the Twins really haven't relevant since the 1990s. One surprise ALCS appearance at the start of the Gardy era does not satisfy. This franchise needs something new. The first two years of Falvine they have only dipped the toe in the water. Now, let's jump in the deep end.
  11. I hate having the Twins held up against the Brewers for comparisons sake. Wisconsin sucks!
  12. It will definitely be interesting to see how the college experience translates to MLB. There are potential bumps in the road that are concerning.
  13. My feelings on the the Twins situation is that they haven't been relevant for at least nearly one decade. Possibly longer depending how you define relevant. It's finally time to really jump in with both feet and shake things up and upset the apple cart. Isn't that what most nearly everyone wanted near the end of the Ryan regime.
  14. At this point, it is still time for positivity and the outlook that a fresh beginning is awesome. The old Twins Way hadn't really worked for 25+ years. Gardy's clubs had some great players and division titles, yet only one ALCS and no WS appearances.
  15. These hires are refreshing. The old "Twins Way" hadn't really worked for 25 years. Let's turn the page to 21st century Twins and start hanging World Series banners again.
  16. Nice comparison. If Astudillo becomes Harper II then the Twins are in the middle of some good things.
  17. Nice guys finish first. Now, to the Hall of Fame for Joe.
  18. Keep the faith! To give up on Buxton now is foolish. The Twins should be all in on Buxton. Nice comparisons to Hicks. Let's also not forget the Twins traded Hicks for John Ryan Murphy.
  19. Now I won't have to fret any longer over how to pronounce "Kennys". Is the 's' silent? Do I say the 's'? So stressful.
  20. How much are tickets?
  21. I like the tear it down and rebuild it approach. I just wish the front office had started this type of effort two years ago instead of being so wishy washy.
  22. Those were depressing times in Twins Territory.
  23. I'd pay every penny I have to relive the 1984-1991 Twins seasons.
