  1. I think Plouffe is a great fit for the current team and last season he batted higher than 7th on a good team.
  2. Of course! The only question is whether they will catch the Royal this year or 2017. Bob, they were in the hunt all last season. Do you really believe we waited for Sano and Buxton only to get worse.
  3. Actually, Duensing, Burton, and Suzuki were useful for multiple years. Can you give the board a working definition for briefly useful?
  4. All's well that ends well.
  5. Murphy is a young healthy catcher who is good defensively and looks like he is going to hit. At 24 he has spent parts of 3 years in The Show and may well be an All-Star at some point in the future. If our favorite team makes a big deal, most likely Berrios, Kepler, Polanco, or even May would need to be involved. Sometimes the best trade, is the one not made. It's a big win to retain all of our top prospects this off season.
  6. You can bet your life on it.
  7. What's great is we dumped board favorite Pinto first.
  8. This is what King Theo calls a small move. I wouldn't read too much into it.
  9. I stand by my statement. No one from the Twins said one word about Burdi or Reed making The Show in 2015. That is not directionaly correct, whatever that is, it's totally correct.
  10. Actually, Meyer was considered a starter going into 2015. No one from the Twins said one word about Burdi or Reed making it to Target Field in 2015.
  11. Jack said somewhere in the middle. Can you do better than just tell, and instead using math and science, show the members how you can possibly know our favorite team is 10-15 years behind the curve? I do hear such things on the board periodically, but no one has ever provided any form of evidence. Is it fact, or just another one of the board's myths?
  12. Actually, May, Jepsen and Perkins are the centerpieces. I was responding to another poster, I have no idea what dates most people were focusing on.
  13. Or much less informed. BA has Ben Balder for international players.
  14. On August 5th and again on August 15th our favorite team picked Duffey over Berrios. This proved to be a good move. Meyer sucked until his last 22 innings in September and wasn't even one of the better pitchers on the team. His future is murky at best. Rogers and Meyer are not the centerpieces of our offseason bullpen plan, merely potential options.
  15. They sure overrated Duffey didn't they. Conservative yes, inflexible no. You don't completely rebuild a mid-market team in less than 4 years by being inflexible.
  16. If Sano puts up 20-25 errors at 3B it could hold up the parade. They are obviously not willing to hand him the 3B job fulltime, if ever.
  17. No doubt the Twins scouted everyone who has ever worn a cup, and decided on Murphy as their catcher of the future. They won't be making a move at catcher.
  18. Mano to mano, Duffey beat him out.
  19. Pressly, Meyer, and Graham are very close. I can see getting a lefty on a short term deal. If the board wants to see shiny new things, power arms in the pen is the strength of our farm system.
  20. There is not only one way to do a rebuild. The Twins did not do a teardown, because they had few vets anyone wanted and the young players were not ready. They were stuck using placeholders, while the board screamed to spend on free agents. TR did a little of this, and a little of that, and magically we became a contender faster than any mid-market team I am aware of.
  21. Maybe you could explain, not being committed to the rebuild when it was completed in near record time. Our favorite team is now committed to dethroning the Royals, not getting younger. If you want to watch a youth movement, you're watching the wrong team. Our young prospects will be filtered in when they are MLB ready and a spot is available. MLB IS NOT a finishing school for contending teams.
  22. Stewart was a 20 year-old in a league where the average age was 23. Still a very solid starting pitching prospect.
  23. Mastro and Benson are emergency depth, doubt we will see them at Target Field. King Theo refers to these as small moves. I wouldn't read too much into it.
  24. Can you name another mid-market team that has done a complete rebuild in less than 4 years? Also, it is not important for pitchers to learn the job on the MLB level. It's important that they come up MLB ready. The Show is not a finishing school.
