  1. I do. Haley made sense coming off a 103 loss season. Since we are still in the hunt, no time to babysit a Rule 5 pickup. Things are fluid right now.
  2. They did as complete a teardown as they could when they traded for Meyer and May. Drafting since 2012 has been very good.
  3. Not much different than when we got Johan.
  4. Santana is much better than halfway decent.
  5. No. Also, I doubt Hurlbut and Siegers are even on the radar. I'm sure we will see Gonsalves no later than 9-1.
  6. How many 22 year-oid lefties can throw 96-98? Also, at one time he was reported to have the best slider in the organization. If he was healthy, 8 would be too low.
  7. A proven vet is not a pig. If you expect a Greinke or Kershaw in every trade, you are always going to be disappointed.
  8. A single move rarely addresses all concerns. Long term, it shows a young locker room we intend to provide the support they need to win.
  9. If they trade Stewart, he'll be the next David Ortiz.
  10. They weren't excuses though they were facts. Besides Duffey beat him out. Maybe the board can start a campaign to have Gonsalves pitch game 163.
  11. Good stuff! The way I see it is: 1/2 Berrios and Santana 3 Trade deadline pickup 4 Free agency signing 5. Gibson 6/7 Gonsalves/Mejia In the wings: Romero, Jorge, Stewart
  12. Stewart is starting to rock and roll. Brad Steil spoke highly of him the other day.
  13. Every team already has their own mid-level unneeded prospects, why would they pay to get more?
  14. I would say a 99% chance it would have affected the rest of our draft strategy.
  15. What it illustrates is, it's bitch when guys you're counting on get hurt.
  16. I agree. I would give him the rest of the season, to see if he can mature into a professional hitter. If not, I would pursue a free agent with some pop. Palka and Granite are nothing more than depth on a contending team.
  17. Don't worry you will again. It seems the world has become unglued because of early injuries to Jay and Stewart. These things have a way of straightening themselves out on the way to Target Field.
  18. You have never heard anyone from the Twins, say any of these players were fast to the majors. Melotakis, Chargois, Jones, Burdi, and Bard have all missed a great deal of time due to injuries and injuries are part of the game.
  19. I would do it in a heartbeat. I would hate to see Gordon go, but the only other alternative I see is to trade our AA starting pitchers. Losing Gordon is less painful than Gonsalves, Romero, or Thorpe-types.
  20. Only the ones who want to trade Dozier and Santana for pie-in-the-sky.
  21. Anyone our favorite team trades, instantly becomes a board favorite. Any player we receive in return, instantly becomes a board scapegoat. It's a game we play here on TD.
  22. Jepsen almost pitched us into the play-offs, since we came up short it was a bad trade. That's silly. Hindsight is truly a wonderful tool.
  23. I could care less that Hicks and Meyer are gone and I have no doubt the new regime will be buyers. Package several of our overrated prospects for a proven starting pitcher. Once again, free agency is very overrated and is 50/50 at best. See what we get at the deadline, take a deep breath, then look at free agency.
  24. I don't believe you can tell that by looking at only one metric. Also, Brock said it some time ago, we do not have 25 players better than Mauer.
